Hi Sam, I guess you meant aerial (An antenna), samilar quality custom work would cost in range of 150 quid in UK, that is equivilant to AED 860. So if you did it for more then it is expensive, if it was done for less then you had very good deal

Quality custom works in UAE is far less costly than similar carried work in USA,Australia,UK... etc thanks to Indians people and Bengali people. We should really appreciate them

You are right...I just cant spell today! I know what you mean about the money in UK (or elsewhere) and I really do appreciate and value that getting things made here is a fairly easy process and not expensive. When I said it was pricey, this was in comparison to other Marshals with the same (or very similar) support for their aerials. I failed to negotiate the price BEFORE the work took place so was scuppered and had no room to negotiate when the work was done.

As I said, the quality of the manufacture was excellent, the guys that we dealt with were brilliant, it was done quickly, smoothly, minimum fuss. I would definitely recommend them again. Its also a place that Bu Nasir uses so they know the club and a couple of our cars.

believe me, seeing the face of the guys when i paid for both of us, i believe we have been tuff in business Sam. The problem does not come from Nazim, but from the Blacksmith who obviously took advantage...

but yes, good quality, as per what we wanted. we just paid one third more than what we were expecting...

3.5" K&N air intake.

and ... update:

- made a good deal on a smittybuilt SRC front bumper ... could not pass it ... now mounted (DIY)
- wired up my led lights on the front bumper myself as well ... now I need sunglasses at nightdrives
- bought a new original air filter element ... after the winter there was more than a handful sand in the old one
- mini catalyst converters were clogged ... now degutted

looks like:

maintenance last week:

- greased my Tom Wood rear driveshaft (CV centering ball assembly, u-joints, splines).
- replaced my stock lower rear control arms with shot bushings with some spares in better shape. No clunking anymore!

(btw ... for changing my control arms I used a bit of the shop lift Kung Fu at Sharkas place )

- installed Vanco 15" big brake kit with brand new Ford Explorer centric premium rotors, Bosch double piston calipers and BlackMagic pads

now it is much easier to lock my front tires

Hi all, hope all are fine and having fun in the desert. So here is a list of all the upgrades I have done after the initial test of my 2012 JKU HEMI in Sweihan. Last week was the first time I was able to use the car since I got it in from the US in July, been so busy with work and weather was not suitable. So I took the family to the our farm in Sweihan and spent the weekend there. Took the jeep out and tested it and I was not even close to happy the reasons are :

1- With the 2012 don't even bother to do an engine swap coz it has enough power with just re-gearing and an air filter IMHO. (What was I thinking when I did it).
2- The 6.4 overheats (Luckily i had a upgraded heavy duty radiator) and can't handle the power (475 HP). But still the marker crossed the 3/4 temp so I had to ease off.
3- AEV 3.5" lift with Bilestein shocks really suck, either I have to change the shocks to coilovers or replace the bumpstops coz it was not comfortable.
4- When you get slightly stuck you get a HOT OIL warning that was the 1st time I ever saw in a jeep.
5- Need to add an auxiliary fan to keep the car cool when needed.
6- Worst part is the traction control, DANGEROUS in the desert if you think side sloping/cresting even when you switch it off , there's automatic override coz it's not 100% off. ( I had them install a kill switch to make sure it's %100 off) then I felt the car was alive and roaring nothing slowing it down.
7- My Nitto Dune Grapplers were awesome with 20psi in them only but I might need to get bead locks just incase I have to turn faster and not worry about the tires coming off.
8- Looking for Coil-overs and bump stops , I was told there's a shop called Mebar in Dubai . Any recommendations that would be nice.
9- Our farm is No.1 when heading towards Sweihan from Abu Dhabi so if any members are around your more than welcome to pass by for some tea also you might see me paramotoring over the area and maybe i take an aerial picture of you guys.
10- I wish i was able to write this much in school, be safe.

Forgot to mention, added a trektop nx top.

Dear Saeed,

If u r running at 20 psi then most likely u wont experience tire popout and hence don't need a beadlock wheels. Beadlock s street legal type is not cheap neither light weight compared to other wheels.

Really surprised to hear that AEV 3.5" lift is not comfy. Anyway you can contact King shocks in the US to prepare a set of shocks for your specific rig with specific valving. Otherwise you can check Offroad Evolution or Rebel for their 100% bolt on coil overs base on King shocks.

As for Mebar, yes they are very professional in custom built suspension and racing cars preparations, ask for Rashad and pass him my regards.
