What did you modify in your car?

Post by iguana »

This was an interesting and helpful topic in the old website. I decided to open it again.

Tell us what did you modify in your car and why. I will start with mine.

My car is a Jeep Wrangler Sport 2001 Model - Red. I did the following:
- 2.5" full Teraflex lift kit with quick disconnectors.
- Rancho 9000 shocks.
I replaced it later with 2.5" OME shocks and springs as my old set up was wrong. The old shocks were for a YJ not a TJ.
- Billy up to get more clearance.
- Heavy Duty Drive shaft and CV joints (it's heavy duty)
- 32*10.5*15 Mickey Thompson tires.
- K/H after market Rims.
- 6" Bushwacker fender flares.
- Front & Rear Warn bumpers.
- Heavy duty shackels.
- Rear snatch Block.
- Warn 8000 Winch (Got it used for a good deal).
- Mopar side steps.
- Jeep Pikini top 3 peices.
- Cheap bumper lights.
- Driver seat raised.
- Kenwood CD Player and 4 speakers.
- R&P upgrade to 4.56 To regain the loss of power after replacing my stock tires with 32*10.5*15. I phased problems in acceleration and climping dunes.
- ARB Front & Read Diff Lockers to go anywhere.
- ARB onboard air compressor to feed air for the Diff lockers and can be used for inflating tires on emergency only.
- ARB snorkle. To avoid getting sand in my Air Filter.
- High jack lift installed on the back of my car attached to the roll cage. (After 2.5" lift and 32 tires I need a new jack).
- New Rancho steering stabilizer. (My old one got busted and is leacking).
- Speedometer adjuster to read correctly.
- Borla Cat Back (Gives me more power and nice sound).
- SkyJacker Handles. You need it in a Wrangler.
- Warn extra lights & front brackets to hold it.
- Bushranger air compressor.
- Changed the side mirror to 2003 - 2006 type.
- Staun Deflators.
- Change the weak Jeep Horn with a BMW ones.
- A lot of stickers.

I am still looking for:
- K&N Filter to replace the stock one.
- Sport seats.
- Gear knob.
- Upgrade my sound system.
- Tire carrier.
- Light bar (This will be done by black scorpion)

Now tell us about your car.

My wife modified my Defender the other day whilst reversing out of our driveway.

She used the wall to panel beat the rear of the car, causing a greater flare over the rear wheel arch!

Well, its a little power between 2000 and 3000 rpm. And the sound increase is minimal, almost can't be realised.

Yesterday I crossed the huge sand mountain in Sweihan from the first attempt like a pice of cake, while (experienced drivers) in cruisers, Patrols, Rovers etc, couldnt do after several retries. That was in low ratio 4th gear easy in JEEP......    :jeep: :jeeping:
