Who sleeps long misses the desert

When I woke up @ 2.30 I asked myself „why do I get up so early?“ Ok I got the answer a few hours later.

Kiwi, Mood, jc, ppnath and Squirrel met @ 4.15 and left for Sweihan 10 minutes later. Our smart Pulldozer sneaked out of work and we met him at the deflation point. He arrived with dynamic deflators to have the air pressure equally reduced around the rim.

A short briefing and @ 5.55 we kissed the sand. Cresting, side sloping, cresting, stucking, sidesloping….. and all this happen in the cool desert in Sweihan with soft sand. But this could not stop the cool gang.

A great morning with a bunch of extraordinary people (some still asleep and some still without sleep), 2 pop outs, 1 broken radiator a “gone” tire and some stucks.

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

What a stunning way to start the day and celebrate a birthday.

I had a feeling this would be a good outing - Urs picks a great line through the dunes which suits my long wheelbase LR3. The sand was powder soft which caught me out shortly after we set off, but I quickly learned to adjust the driving style, be a bit more aggressive and use a little more speed everywhere.

Schweihan dunes provided a perfect backdrop for the spectacular sunrise, but this was soon forgotten as we worked up a sweat and the adrenalin rushed through our bodies as we floated in a Northerly direction over the dunes.

What a great tonic for the weekend!

Quick HOT shower & to Bed wake up at 17:00, Nice Hot cup of my Deisel Coffee, get ready to work

The sand was soft the sidesloping was cool and the stucks were awsome as was the company Guys thankyou

Now I need Sleeeeeeeeeeeep early start again Sat Yahoooooooooooooooooooooo

Went to bed at 1.30 am and wake up 3.30 am rush to Adnoc station with sleepy mood and reach at 4.00.
It was a nice ride with hot weather with cool desert nice route you choosen Urs.
