Eearly Saturday Butterfly trip
Where do I begin?
Yes we saw thousands of small butterflys today, no idea where they came from or where they were going ( bit like us).
This was an exploring route in Sweihan area and boy did we explore! I have just got home 13 hours after leaving.
Bowls, bowls and more bowls full of very soft sand set the pattern for the first hour, thanks to Kiwi for being my 2nd in convoy and heeding every instruction I gave him to take the convoy around these obstacles.
We got stuck in some horrible places but then picked up a better route? and carried on.
We were heading for Khatim, when H3 got into a bad situation and Mood had to lead the convoy out to Khatim whilst JC, Avan and me helped out with Simon's situation, thanks to you all.
Hope everyone got home safely from Khatim sorry I didn,t have a chance to say thanks and goodbye, but I hope you enjoyed this Intermediate plus challenging route today.
H3 and I are safely back in AD and his car is at Liberty Autos.
We also had on the trip Avan's friend, Chris, who is the Chairman of a 4x4 club in Cape Town, I am sure that what he experinced today was teamwork and the spirit of AD 4x4.
A big thanks to everyone for being patient today it wasn,t an easy route but you were all great, thanks for the pull outs, I am not leading again for a while, you Advanced people can see what it is all about trying to lead a convoy thro unchartered territory!!

What a day, to say challenging would be an understatement, but having the A/C pack in during the morning followed by the power steering I was struggling for the last couple of hours and then that stuck, the heat got to me and I'd just about had it. Goes to show how important it is to have plenty of water and cool drinks to hand in situations like this, normally i go home with water to spare, yesterday used evrything in the coolbox with the ice coming in handy as a cool pack on my head.
Many, many thanks to you all for helping me out and Mac & Jim for waiting for the wrecker truck and dropping me off safely in Abu Dhabi.
I was asleep on the sofa by about 6pm and stayed that way until this morning.
Thanks again guys, see you on another fun packed day out soon.
