We all met at Sweihan Wedding Hall Meeting point at 1400. There were few cancellations and no shows as usual. Safety/Trip briefing was conducted at deflation point ( Near under bridge off gate 12). The participants were divided into two convoys as follow:

We started with easy and smooth track. Later it was increased for learning newbie level skills. There were number of second tries and few stucks as usual. All were handled by support team. They were everywhere to guide and help members in negotiating obstacles. We had numerous refreshment breaks in between and ended trip in time at Sweihan BBQ point.

Thanks Marshal Adiga, Megamoe, Kamran and Shajumon (Explorer) for supporting trip. It was indeed pleasure to see Megamoe after long time.

Observations:
1. Members are requested to see the trip details before joining any trip. This trip was not ANIT (First Timers) trip. First Timers ( ANIT) are required to register first with the club and then join announced ANIT.
2. Trip details are self-explanatory and elaborate, however members keep on asking where is meeting point/deflation point unnecessarily.
3. A large number of participants were late at meeting point including Intermediate and Advance members, which is not expected. Please follow trip timings. Do not join if you are late.
4. Please register in trip if you are sure to attend. Several last minute cancellations and no shows which has become general tendency amongst members.

Marshal Kamran may like to add any significant event/observation about his convoy No. 2 here.

While this is obviously no excuse, I feel like we could make the trip joining/management experience more user friendly.

1) It's difficult for trip leads to know where the deflation point they select from drop down actually is. For example, we have an Al faya deflation point which is actually Khatim. I plan to just not use this feature in future and instead just provide gps coordinates - but obviously this can be confusing for newbie members.

2) On a recent trip arranged by Tim, the website sent wrong meeting location in email, according to the member, resulting in member going to wrong deflation point.

3) If newly registered members are not permitted to join newbie trips, then why can they? Suggest limiting newly registered members to trips posted as ANIT. Current system is very confusing for new members. I found it extremely confusing when I first joined, and it's the same now as it was then.

4) A proper smartphone app (with offline caching) could make it much easier for members to sign up for trips, view deflation point and trip description. The app should not simply be a wrapper around the ad4x4 website, but should be a native app similar to what is used by another local club. I know this is a lot to ask, it is simply a suggestion. Instead of native apps the same could be achieved with revamp of existing trip management functionality on website.
