Soft advance to Bu Tais on Friday morning

Post by CANTALOUBE »

It was a beautiful foggy morning on the road; everyone arrived well at the meeting point at 7.00 am at the foot of the first dunes.

After a briefing we left with the team consisting of:
*** Advance: Chris.j Florian, Goeff, Reji, Shajumon.
**** Expert: Bishar, Joerg.
**** Explorer: Jithesh and Thomas
***** Support Marshal Michael (Mister D)

The weather was perfect but wet, so the sand started to change, partly hard on some sides and soft on others. We had to be careful when attacking the crests and we are not used to it anymore. So I led a very gentle trip with some small crests, this allowed Regi to gain more confidence and Joerg to rediscover the dunes safely after two years of absence.

Everyone rode very well despite a few second attempts and two stucks including mine :D
This was not a usual advance ride where you play on high ridges but it was a very nice and smooth ride I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
Thanks to all the drivers for joining me, Florian, Goeff and Shajumon are starting to get a good experience, Chris and Reji are getting more and more confident in their driving.

Thanks Thomas, Jithesh, Bishar and Joerg for your support
Thank you Michael (Mr D) for your support and advice live in the car. I hope you will get your car back soon to guide us over the high dunes and I will finally be able to touch my gear selection lever :)

See you on the sand for my next trip
John

The sand behaved differently. First time I drove on such a type of sand. But John nicely managed the difficult situation in an easy way. Also I noticed that while leading John gave warnings like; ditch, humb, take deviation right or left, more momentum etc.. This will be very helpful for less experienced drivers like me. Many thanks John for arranging this trip, Thanks Michael, Thomas, Jithu, Bisher, Joerg for your support.
