We started warming up the tires while digging through thick fog towards Sweihan. All but one arrived on time I liked the “justification” there was fog all the way

Anyway after some air escaped through a couple of valves and the briefing we were ready for the warm up stage. The temperature was just at the edge of being cool orpleasant but high enough to displace the fog.

I had the privilege for warming up by going (e.g. walking) up and down some dunes while drivers could feel the heat increase while challenging the dunes.

Some second tries made you “reading” the sand and listening to your car/engine. You remember the sound when the engine told you that it was exhausted? Don’t’ push you donkey until he is dead.

I hope you all saw “Miss Gravity”. This is the fairy desert godmother who tries to protect you from any roll over. Remember DO NOT IGNOR HER.

A special thank to Christine for being my co-pilot. You did an excellent job in taking all my fear away. Towards the end of the trip I was absolutely relaxed and could even keep the eyes open during descents

You all did well and I enjoyed the dunes with you. It was pity we had to take a “short cut* to the Al Khazna Municipality but the agreement with the boss was to be there at 2 pm.

Next time I’ll make sure there is no other commitment. Well, see you soon somewhere in the sand.
