Floating the Dunes – Trip Report
Navigating on the roads seems to be more challenging than floating the dunes. Anyway after some sightseeing the two Dubai members finally found the meeting point and we left for the desert.
Navigating on sand is definitely more challenging than on road. This was demonstrated ca. 23.5 meters off the road.
And finally we were ready for the sand and 50 km floating fun. Yes we had a lot of fun and the kids got some good time for playing.
Then we stopped for Dhuhur prayer and a well deserved break. Yooooop and after the break we continued floating the dunes and ended up at the inflation point safe and sound.
I learnt a great lesson today: an easy track causes stucks while a “difficult” is mastered without problems. Everybody did well, I had great fund and enjoyed the day out with you.
See you soon somewhere in the sand.

Your trip was amazing as usually. Big thanks, Urs
I think reason is that everybody afraid that if we will not go out from dunes till 15:00, you shall finish trip where we are and go home at your normal speed. Fortunately even German Ordnung have limitsUristier wrote:

Re: Floating the Dunes – Trip Report
Thank you Urs, first for having been kind enough to wait for us as we were slighly late (not really sightseeing when driving 180 km/h to try to join the group!!), then for this fantastic and challenging trip.
I guess I did progress, in skill but also..... in number of stucks
Also experienced my first popout !
Thanks to all of you who helped me putting back my tyre in place.
We were exhausted but happy at the end of the day.
Long live to AD 4x4 !
