It was a cloudy morning in our else quit sunny dubai... but what was that? an unusual high amount
Of 4x4's were rushing on the al ain road... and they had weird numbers on their cars... 1010, 927 ... and so on. The fear that there might be a lot more cars in our faqa dunes then usual became reality when we realized that the gulf news fun drive with over 1000 cars was happening in the same area... Oh no!

Anyway nearly everybody arrived in time except kris and eslam who excused themselves beforehand ( you were missed ! ) at our meeting point together with shadis/jaynes group. Great to meet you there Jayne, Sarah, Luna, Sean, Shadi, Salim as always. After a short discussion we changed our plans - we moved the trip to graveyards instead of faqa and shadis group moved to margham.

After we deflated and the briefing I decided to show a demonstrational stuck, to practice and explain some recovery technics.

Then our convoy began to move through the in the beginning small and sometimes a bit tricky dunes of graveyards.
But everybody did very well. A few stucks here and there, a few breaks for coffee and cakes - all very relaxing.
After coffee everybody was awake so we spiced the level slightly and still safely according to the grade up and the dunes got also a bit bigger.

The sand was a bit tricky because it rained the night before - so harsh surface and soft below
but everybody did amazingly well.

Amazing trip. Had a wonderful time. Weather was unusually good. Had the opportunity to see Gazelle in the desert also . A few second tries and stuck, but was great fun specially seeing for the first time more than one SWB wranglers getting stuck in a newbie trip

Malte you rule man . Great lead. Thanks for the help and guidance. Radio issues, arb deflator, cookies, tire inflation, and so much more .

Thanks Marshal Cherif for sharing useful tips with us. Hangting, thanks for rescuing us whenever we needed it. After seeing you drive that big 3 bedroom (Hummer) with such an ease I think I should stop blaming my LWB next time I get stuck

It was nice meeting you all. Wonderful experience, special thanks to Abdul Qadir for his help (as always ), Azzamy for sharing with us the reasons to join the JK club . Looking forward to meet you guys again soon Will be sharing the pictures shortly.

Malte, First of all thank you for avoiding us the GulfNews mess in Faqa. Graveyards was a great location and we had geat fun.

Great lead Malte and good briefing with many explanations during the different breaks. your choice of the tracks was just perfect with various levels giving learning opportunities to everyone. thanks also to Cherif for his expert advise and the nice support, and for Hangtang with his recovery monster demonstrations and good humour.

I enjoyed the trip and the company today, good to see familiar faces as well as meet new people.
