Report: Saturday in Al Khatim with 9Ball 290812

Not often we do trips on Saturday, but man what a nice day it was! We almost all met in time in Al Khatim gas station. We were joined by Khaiwi's friend Abujoud and by Mamoun with his Pajero SWB, but waited for his brother Abed a few more minutes after 1415, no answer on his mobile, so we all departed for the deflation point. We later found out he had a minor accident on his way to AL Khatim and his phone was dead, glad to hear you were fine, hope you did not have to wait too long for Saeed and the report. Will catch up next time! SO, we deflated and hit the dunes and gradually increased the pace. Lots of side sloping, but no cresting even thought he temptation was high! Of course I had to have the first stuck, but Zeer pulled me out quickly. More fast pace driving, a few breaks, very few stucks, and near sunset we hit the catch road, and just as we are about to head out for the usual BBQ spot well guess what, Zeer decided to give it a try for the Stuck of the Year! He found a way to get stuck doing a crest in the middle of the catch road!! Of course he wanted to preserve his pride so he refused to be pulled. Took him a good 30 minutes to get him-self out of this mess, at some point we almost decided to have a BBQ in the middle of the road! So, he finally did it and we headed for the BBQ spot. Some guys decided to continue to Abu Dhabi. Awesome time at the BBQ, great food, great shisha, Audrey showed up out of nowhere with her lovely doggy, she and Zeer cooked amazing steaks and chops. Nice breeze and full moon, best way to recharge the batteries. Around 2000 most of us decided to head back to Abu Dhabi. Just before I hit the road who do I find? Mamoun found a way to get a pop-out between the BBQ spot and the road! hehehe. So while we inflate his tire with one of my compressors I decide might as well inflate mines with my second compressor. End of story! Thank you everyone, by the new rules this would have been an advanced trip and you all did great! Hope to see you all again very soon!

9Ball - Great trip report with photographic evidence of epic catch road stuck! LOL Zeer's been laughing about that stuck all night. WIsh I could have joined you all during the drive, but at least I got to enjoy a little bit of the nice weather with you guys.

Nice, fast-paced trip - great track by 9ball. We had lots of opportunities for enhancing our side-sloping skills. The weather was surprisingly pleasant, with a nice breeze practically all through the trip. Great way to cap the weekend.

A nice afternoon trip with great company indeed. I enjoyed the fast pace although the zig-zag driving is not my favorite .

The evening bbq point relaxation was rewarding with convenient atmosphere and reasonably cool breeze.

Had lots of pics and great videos that will take some time to process.

Thanks for ur concern, the accident took place in Dubai. So Dubai police were fast in action. I had to drive on 80km to reach the work shop safely.
Seems great trip n bbq, hope to join u soon in another trip.

yea bro all is good he was so close to get stuck as he didn’t deflate, but i must say the driver is ok, and the funny part he was worry if i will get stuck as i told him it my 1st time in the desert

Thanks for a great trip 9ball, beautiful day to be out in the desert and a nice relaxing drive, perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Thanks to Chief, Mamoun and Gladidi as well for maintaining the back and to Zeer for all the recoveries

All kidding aside, respect to Zeer for getting himself out with little assistance.
