Speedbooster for Mitsubishi

Post by josephutanes »

Hi, anyone has any idea in installing a speedbooster and will it improve the cars performance? Because there is a lag in the accelleration of the car even I floor the accellarator even in low gear and I still cannot get the correct momentum in climbing steep slopes.

Any ideas will be highly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Joseph

I'd recommend ecu remap rather than installing any bolt on device, the program can adjust throttle response time as well as improve Bhp and torque.

The speedbooster type thing above and others like it don't increase the car's power but only manipulate the throttle response - some reviews suggest this can be dangerous in some situations, but have a look online for more info on that.

I have on jeep but rarely I have used in desert as it it can get you into places you don't want to go. Also encourages you to push the car which can lead to overheat etc. It only increases throttle response not power.

I have it on the FJ as does Grizzly. The FJ has a major lag on the throttle no matter how hard or quick you push down. I was very skeptical at first of getting one but it does make a difference on the FJ to throttle response if you use sensibly. It does not give you more power, on an FJ it just means that when you press the throttle down you don't have the 1/2 sec to 1 sec delay for the car to figure out what you want it to do, especially useful in getting the car to change down when you are using the gears on a climb, or when at the bottom of a steep descent followed by a steep climb. Not sure if it will have the same benefits on the other cars. I agree with Andy in that if you don't have throttle control in the first place don't get one since it will get you into potential trouble.
