Stroker Step by Step?
Does anyone know where we can find a stroker guide? I.e. basic configs, specs, Local Shops to use etc. If not does anyone have info for this so that I can Compile one?

liaise with Desertdawg and Dynostroker...
and from experience, do not go this way... 50% of success and huge source of problems... Better buy a WJ V8 if you are looking for power. it will eventually cost you less money.

Was hoping for a comprehensive sourcing guide or something. just being lazy. I will do the leg work on it and post it here once i find everything. The biggest concern was finding a proper machine shop. not willing to risk the possibility of poor workmanship on a 10000 engine rebuild

My advice would be that if you're going to build stroker, start with a complete junkyard engine and build it slowly while you're gathering the parts as funds allow. Then once it's finished you can swap it into your Jeep over the course of a couple of days thereby minimizing downtime. You could then either sell on the old engine for someone else to rebuild it into a stroker or keep it as a spare.
Budget 15-20k AED for the whole exercise.

Is it Chuck's old motor? Does it have the expensive Oz bonnet with grills?

Re: Stroker Step by Step?
I only saw it once briefly and yes i believe it was one in the same. 4.6l stroker burgundy red But without any contact info i can't know for sure. I can't trust these spares used parts places to know all of that. these guys didn't even know his name. just that he was Serbian is all i got and it was 16500 aed.
step one is to find an ax-15 to convert the trans. then i will move on to sourcing the crank etc. should be able to find a wrangler 89-99 to suit. I have a source for the crank in the US so I think i will get that started.
I will let you know as soon as i hear something on that DD.
If Uwe's is in good shape and i can get a better deal on it that is an excellent option as it would save me some time, but dependent on the condition i would have to get a much better deal on it. My monster has AED 25k in refreshing all but the engine and trans so id have to get it from Uwe for 12-13k max to make it worthwhile. If I recall he still had the AW4 in his right?

Totally agree.
You can call if you needed parts from the junkyards. A Trip to Sharjah can get you most of what you want on the cheap.

Talk to SSS (Silver Sand Surfer) re 4.2 crank. He has one - perhaps he will sell it to you?

Hey i had someone lined up to pay 14000 for my old stocker. Some people are willing to pay. If you really like the style they are few and far between. especially the pre97 wing windows.DesertDawg wrote:16500 aed.

Re: Stroker Step by Step?
hey guys ... I sold my 4.2 crank long time ago (2 years?) to ... ossme?
( and yes ... it was a long snout, 4cw crank shaft ... looked it up again)
At the end he put a Golen Stroker into his 97 TJ (and had PCM, wiring, tuning issues due to the early 97 YJ style and no O2 open loop control)
So I know he DID NOT use my ex crank for his build ...
I am happy with my LS1 swap ... except the regularly changing legal situations
If I would do it again (monster up my Jeep) I would thoroughly look into a Sprintex, or Magnum Powers SUPERCHARGER
This one would be a cheaper but NOT LESS attractive alternative:

The stock 4.0 I6L can safely take some boost! ...( above 10-12 psi you'd want forged internals)
