dear Zayed,

as you can see in the verification signature of the log pages (bottom), there is one space for the trip leader and one for the supporting marshal.

Hence, when you lead an expert trip, as an expert, you are entitled to sign as leader for all the attendant of your trip, and there will always be one marshal joining your trip to also sign.

on the other hand, you are not entitled to sign any of the pages of the upgrade qualifications.

hope this answer your question.

Hi,
I wanted to highlight on that it is a very nice, simple & clear documentation tool but at the same time I would like to ask about:
1- When to fill it by the member (I mean just by the end of each trip & the Marshals should wait to sign or fill it after the trip & sign it from the Marshals later)?
2- if someone did a series of trips in 2012 & got trained on all the skills which allows him or her to go ahead for the next level with all the tools ready & now the rules have been changed! Does he or she needs to start from scratch again for 2013?!!

At the end I woul like to suggest one thing which is why not make a software of the log book on AD 4X4 website & to be a link with the report page in order to have a back up data in case of loosing the log book.

Thanks in advance for replying to my questions.

Regards.

1. The Log book is to be filled after the trip ... Cannot be signed later or next day or on next trip ... If you forgot to sign off your Log Book on the same day of the trip, then you lost your chance.
2. The Log book is not a guarantee for upgrade. The log book is a conformation of completion of skills that is required for an upgrade. So the previous history of trips will not be counted for your upgrade.
3. You don't need to start from scratch, if you master the required skills, it will be signed off for you.
4. The Log book is copy righted and approved by the authorities to be printed and distributed on a paper form not an elctronic form. Therefore, we will not be able to have an electronic form of the Log book.
5. You should not loose your log book ... If you do, you will start from your existing level and skills .. Just like now, you will not start from scratch

adding to the above

it is advisable that few info to be filled at the beginning of the trip such as the sarting time, KM start, entry waypoint
the remaining info can be filled after the trip

drive safe and enjoy the sand

We, members, should help him/her in setting up his/her Shisha, BBQ, & chair while he is signing logs :D
I'll be fine with the shisha alone ;)

beautiful concept guys, appreciate all the the good things that AD4x4 does for the members and now the Log Book,

only 1 point i didn't like and it's a personal opinion

i didn't see the logic if you forget your log book than the trip you attend to will not be included !! why??

we already registered for the trip, the marshal was in the trip, i did the trip, so why not signing the book if i forgot it !! i don't see the logic in this, again it is my personal opinion kindly elaborate !

In anything in life, if you open the door for exceptions, then this will never close
Each trip has 8 cars as average, if half of the members forgot their logbook, then we will end up with the marshal having to remember all these info, which might affect the correctness
Just keep it in the car, with the recovery tools, you don't go out to the desert without it, do you?!?!
Even if the trip will be counted for you somehow, but the details of the trip will be difficult to remember ;)

Q: What to do when you have all your sign off and are entitled for an upgrade?

A: the best solution, is to send a PM to the last marshal who signed it, and to a member of the SC, to make sure your entitlement for the upgrade will be considered. Picture of your page with all sign would be a plus!
