Me and Kris

Post by iguana »

Kris is a very nice young guy I met him through the Jeep club. He got a Wrangler, started rebuilding it again as everything in this car was really F***ed up.

We didn't go affroading together at all, but I don't know what happened to us in the Jeep club, we hijacked a thread and started writing our life story overthere. We had a fun to complete 10 pages before the end of the year. Actually, and after the 7th page, I found that there is no use to write there as no body bothered to answer us or share our thread so I decided to quit.

It was really fun, we were talking and talking and talking. Now I got another bet with him, that we all those active members over here, we can finish 20 pages before the end of the year.

So guys, lets start it. You can write anything over here about your self, your car, your life , memories, nice things you had .... just anything. Can we win this fun and reach 20 pages before the end of 2006?

One rule. Don't qoute what the other member wrote OK. just start from where it ends and continue writing. You can add pictures if you want.

Ok guys, lets see how much can you talk.

Didn't get my light bar yet. Still waiting for the order to come.

Now you tell me your advice. I ordered a light bar, I have new 4 x 6" KC highlights 130 Watts. I think it will look too big on the light bar isn't it?

Ok the other idea. I have 2 x 5" Warn lights 100 Watts on the windscreen (HID) and 2 x 5" non branded 100 Watts on the bymper (Beam). Do you think I should put those on the lightbar and put the 6" down? I am still confused.

My friend bought a nice GPS called my guide AED 1500 only with everything including the map and stereo stereo sound. It also has an MP3 Player and games.

Didn't try it offroad yet. He is coming to the camping today. lets see how it'll work.

This guy is the one who put the idea of offroading in my mind. He had a Nissan Pathfinder and was regularly going off roading with his friends. From the stories and pictures, I liked the idea and bought the Jeep. (Now he quit offroading and swtiched to quad bikes). He sold his old Pathfinder and bought the new one.

This is an interesting story to tell. This guy's name is Ahmed Shah. He is actually a member of the club under the nick name of Shah.

- He was born in April 1968, I was born in April 1969
- He joined Mashreqbank one year before me
- Both of us got married on 17th October with one year difference.
- His son is one year older than mine.
- We lived in the same building, same floor with one year difference.
- I left Mashreqbank one year after he left.
- I joined Union National Bank after one year from him joining.
- He gets promoted one year before me.

So there is always one year difference between both of us. If I want to know what will happen to me next year, I just look at what happens to Ahmed.

By the way, my son's name is Ahmed

The weather looks good today. Sunny and clear ........ yesssssssssssss no rain

hmmmm iguana seems like ahmad was ment to be your soul mate

about the spot lights , not cool to put different ones together on the light bar.
you know the spot lights i have are KC 6" 150 watt i have two on the bumper and two on the windshield at first i thought the onse on the windshield are huge then i got used to them, now i think they give the car a tuogh look.

for me i'm getting the delta light bar , i know that the price is high but eno it will be different than most of the jeeps.

By the way Mr. iguana khalas i'll change my 2.5" old man emu and 31" tyres to 3" teraflex with 33" tyres , i think with all the stuff i have it will look great.

modifications now i have nothing else to add except the stroker kit , i have the borla cat-back and headers , i have the k&n air intake system, i have the nology ignition coil , nology hotwires , nology plugs. the ring and pinion and lockers will be on in a month time.

even the shape of the car , new special paint , bestop fuel door hatch, 5 new rims (will be on in 2 weeks), new headlights , new tail lights , new back up lights , new KC spot lights on the bumpers , new KC spot lights on the windshield , new delta light bar with 6 lights , new side mirrors , new front warn bumper , new rear warn bumper , t-max winch , warn winch plate, warn grill, black lights covers, 4 3/4" fender flares , and the 2.5" old man emu lift kit and shocks and kumho 31" tyres (which i'm changing now to 3" teraflex and 33" kumho tyres and also a 6" fender flares).

from inside the sound system is totally changed, and at the back i have the amazing extendatrunk.

i have a feeling that i forgot somethings

Well, Jeep, I think the best thing if you want to talk about what have you changed in your car is to make a link to Quadratec site and say "I have all this in my car"

By the way, what are you doing with your omnix light bar? If you want to sell it, I will buy it from you. Mine is in Quadratec order # 5 which has not been finalized yet. So I can buy yours.

By the way Jeep, did you get me the Gulf News Tickets? Is my name in the approved list? I didn't check the news paper.

yah i got all the cars registered , hmmm even if you check ur name u won't find it cause i used different names , anyway ur number is 137.

the light bar , let me check with my brother because i gave it to him.

by the way i asked the guys in the gulfnews how do we become marshals , thay said we have to contact one guy and there won't be a problem , i remember in last year fun drive this guy met us in the desert and he was friendly and told us (me and the two other wranglers with me) that we should be marshals and i remember he gave us his number to call him but i didn't save it.

they say that this fun drive will be very nice , it will start from dubai and end in hatta , they told me that they didn't approve many of the cars that they think will not be able to handle the track.

Iguana , why dont u mount the lights before hooking them up & see if u like them like that.
i dont think having different brands of lights on your roof will matter , as long as it looks symetric its all good.
also im pretty sure you'll use the lower mounted ones more often than the ones on your lightbar since they usually give you some glare...that'll be your next step..painting a section of your hood matt black to reduce the glare
personal preference.

Jeep , what brand are your 31" tires ?
also , if you're planning on changing all your rims and also your spare tire and rim & get the carrier...let me know if you want to possibly get rid of a rim and tire...im lookin for an offset rim , i think the stock TJ sport rims will do the trick nicely...my spare rubs against the tailgate...getting annoying.
lets have some pics of your car?

Saeed , how are you ?
long time.hows the cherokee doing ?

Hey Kris, you missed that camping trip, man, it was great. We had lots of fun. Nice people, nice camp fire, great drive under the rain next morning.

we were about 50 cars first day, some people left early as it was a bit windy around 6.00 and actually all the tents started flying. But after 2 hours wind cooled down and we had a great night around the camp fire.

Next day, we drove from Sweihan to Al Khatim, ver easy track but it was so nice, around 18 cars. The weather was great and it was my first time to drive under the rain in the desert.

My kids and wife were actually too excited. But couldn't play around with them, preferrred to drive safe

Driving back home on the tarmac was a disaster, heavy rain all the way till we reached home .. around 7 acceident on the raod, can't emagine those people who drive their japanese saloon cars on 150 KM/H underthe rain. They deserve the accidents

It's 12.30 now, I still have all my camping gear in the car, too lazy to bring it up home, I will do this tomorrow.

Did you see the pics? More to come wait, people are sleeping now

I had my Wife, 2 kids and the following in the car;
- 1 Big tent
- 2 Camping Chairs
- 2 Sleeping bags
- One bed cover
- Inflatable matress
- accessories (Lights, Torche, cups & spoons ... ETC)
- Heavy cloths for the family
- Food for 2 days 9that was 2 bags)
- Barbecue stuff
- Portable Toilet (An Idea invented by my wife)
- My Tool box
- My 2nd air compressor
- my Two rope
- Toys for the kids
- 2 car seats for the 2 kids
- Air matress Compressor
- Hi lift air jack

I only had to give my cool box to Diver to carry it for me. By the way, I also had a space for it, but I didn't have bungee ropes

You think of it, do your calculations and tell me how can you fit all these things in a Wrangler, if you could tell me I will give you AED 100/-

And by the way, keep a space for everybody to stay comfortable because it's a long drive.

Next time, I will take a picture for my car from inside and show you how it is done
