Jeep maintenance in Dubai

Post by skydiverdrivers »

At last we have got our Jeep Wrangler registered.. :D .. it's now time to get it off the road!!

We will need new tyres etc, hopefully get it lifted too. Can anyone recommend a garage in Dubai that could do this, and also one that would be good for regular servicing and day to day maintenance?

Cheers

icon certainly do a great job, skill level is very good  , but lack the goodies most of the time, long delivery times etc.

have also used robbies in al quoz, he seems to always have large stock of goodies...as for their standard of work..had small glitch first time i used  , but they did sort it upon my return !!

Thanks for the info. We are on the case.

Any advice on the priorities of particular mods that should be done first to get our year 2000 jeep wrangler super OK for desert and mountains? Any advice on the costs?

All input gratefully received.

when i bought my wrangler, it already had wheels, and side bars on.

icon put on the old man emu lift kit....think it was about...2000 dhs

i think wrangler ok as standard for desert ...especialy when begining...but im sure the more experianced offroaders will give you more info on that.

will pm you regarding tandem :D

Hey skydiverdriver (It took my an hour to type this and I think the spelling is wrong) .. Congratulations for your car and now officially welcome to AD4x4 Club ...

I also confirm with Moe and Jo Bosch & Icon ... However, If you are looking for serious modifications, you need to order the parts from www.Quadratec.com there you can see all the toys and will be much cheaper. Our friend EXTREME started to make group orders for us, just start collecting your shopping list till he makes the next order and send it through to him.

To give you an idea of how much you have to save, look at this thread and you will know

try Robbie's motorsports...they're busy but do a good job.
they should have your lift kit installed by the end of the day.
if they make a mistake , they'll def fix it.
Phil is the new workshop manager & a pretty fair guy. 050 551 7321
they do in house fabrication work too & outsource stuff like cutting the bodywork to fit larger tyres & charge u their cost price for that..i think they're also Nitto dealers now...
and no i dont have shares in the company
they've jst helped me a lot in the past..

Well Kris, I went there twice, yes they have a lot of nice items in stock, prices might be good comparing to the other garages in Dubai, but still, Quadratec will be cheaper.

I am not too impressed with his work .. I think Icon is more professional

We'll make a note of all suggestions, and give them a go. Thanks for so many replies - and ones that agree in general and don't contradict each other! :)
Currently booked into the Jeep garage in Rashidiya for a major service and overhaul - may not be the cheapest here, but compared to what we've been paying in UK it's a bargain!! So Inshallah, we'll be joining you for our first proper trip very soon!!

 You forgot to tell us we'd need a ladder if we got a lift!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just picked up the jeep from his makeover - 33" tyres, 3"lift, new spots etc -- looks a real monster!!!! Trouble is, he feels not so different from inside, then we get out and fall down the extra height!!
Let's get some Dubai based trips going so we can really test him now!!
:jeeptj:

Will post a picture of the mean green machine soon :D

very happy skydiverdrivers
