AUH Faya to Khatim Mid-day Intermediate

NOTE: This is an exploration / point-to-point trip.

Much of the area we are passing through I have never personally visited before. There may be sections that are technical or for other reasons are not ideal for practicing side sloping, there may be sections of traveling on gatch. Please only sign up if you are OK with this. The point is to see something different than the usual heavily visited dunes. There may also be an opportunity to practice navigation if any advance level drivers want to join.

Plan is to start at Al Faya, at an entrance south-west of the heavy vehicle inspection center: 24.3614, 54.9613

Target destination is an intersection just south of the Boudthib endurance track: 24.2698, 55.0028

Please keep following in mind:

• Drivers are asked to please arrive on time - should be done with deflation and ready for briefing maximum 10 minutes after meeting time.
  • We do not have time to wait for late arrivals on this trip
• Car should be in good condition and have serviceable spare tire
• Ensure you carry all equipment as required for your level
• I would not recommend bringing passengers on an exploration trip unless they are well aware of what to expect, but in case you intend to do so anyway:
  
  • If you are newly upgraded to intermediate or you are not a confident intermediate level driver, do not bring passengers as they will be a distraction
  • Be mindful passengers are VERY likely to get motion sick. You can buy motion sickness pills at the pharmacy, have them take a pill ~15 minutes before arriving at deflation
  • Do not bring passengers unless your vehicle is equipped to secure them in the car, for younger passengers this means e.g. a proper child seat with 4-point seat belt
