Khazna Newbie Trip 29-10-2020

We all met in Khazna at 2 pm. As a lot of cars were registered for this drive so we had to wait for almost half an hour to start our briefing. I would like to take the opportunity and thank all who came on time and all those who informed me that they weren't coming. I was surprised that a few members didn't show up nor cancel and we had to wait for them for some time. At the meeting point we met the advanced convoy and had a little chat together. We started our briefing with a club announcement as we had a new Marshal on board. Congratulations Mark and welcome to the orange team. Then, we started our safety briefing focusing on the basic skills needed for the ANIT drive and the safe measures that we all need to follow. Convoy was set having Jean as my second lead and Irfan as the official sweeper. This time we had a big convoy so we needed a mid-convoy support and that was Raul's role. Thank you guys for your support throughout the trip and Jean, thanks for being a solid second lead. We started our drive practicing bit by bit with some second tries and a couple of stucks. However, the drivers did really well especially the first timers. Well done guys. We finished the trip at around 5:30 pm.

I enjoyed the drive very much. It was a very informative trip as we had a handful of experienced marshals sharing their knowledge and experience throughout the session.

It was really generous of Marshal MissoBisho to offer us hot coffee during the short break. Enjoyed it much.
