What is your Blood type??
I don't want to be pessimist, but as far as i know we should;
"Prepare for the worst and Hope for the Best "
Out there we are on our own and we help each other in everything. Just in case we needed this kind of help (hoping no one will ever need it), anyone who knows his blood type please post it here.

I second Mike,mike0967 wrote:The blood group is given on the driving license and some of us have even put it on their cars. Anyway, we all would appreciate the members to put a sticker on their car showing name and blood group.

I've just checked my driving license and my blood group isn't mentioned there at all
I appreciate the sentiment behind this thread - however, at some point it will get swallowed up as new threads appear on the board.
May I suggest that when registering for a trip ALL members put their blood group after their mob number.
This way the trip leader has instant access to the required information and will not have to go trawling through the site looking for the thread and the registered members' blood groups.
Just a thought ....

Slightly off topic - but how do you get to donate blood here in the UAE as an expat?Barkil wrote:A sticker on the car will be a great help if the driver is in need.
Furthermore, this forum will help creating a donors list, ready to be used in time of need. Another act of solidarity between family members.
Thanks everyone :okfriend: for ur big
I was a regular in South Africa - but am clueless about getting started here.

.... having the blood group written somewhere is close to "useless". Before any authorized medical person will give you a blood infusion, he MUST test you. ...
No one will check or belive what is written on a drivers licence or a car anyway.
... but it looks cool
:hat:
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
all above is true, and yes the thread may be put to the back burner, but it can also be done like the phone list. and then put in the right place or next to your name on the phone list put your blood type. and then orangise the list int to blood groups for easy access,Jo wrote:HI Jax,Jax wrote:I've just checked my driving license and my blood group isn't mentioned there at all

No one will remember to open this thread if there is a need for blood ... most of us have the blood type and full name sticker on their cars which is easier access ..
The new website have a blood type cell which you have to enter .. But lets wait till it's launched (It was suppose to be launched on 1st of Jan 2009

Do not rely on your driving licence, mine shows wrong blood type! Don,t rely on this thread either, who are you going to call if you need easy access to it? or are unconcious??
Do you REALLY know your blood group?? How do you know?? cos it is on your D/Lic, as above they have printed mine wrongly.
Who outside of the club will know about this???
Last year when I was working in Al Ain, and staying at Rotana Hotel, I was approached by a Doctor from the trauma unit at Twaam Hosp, who had noticed my name & blood group on the H3, and he commented on what an excellent idea it was ( as long as the person who was driving was the named person!!..... (GOOD POINT)
I for one have a note in my wallet with my name & blood group which can be cross checked with my other ID. From 1st hand experience the ID of the injured is the 1st thing the Police & ambulance SHOULD look for, but there again you will never be given a blood transfusion without the hospital first checking your blood group themselves.I really do not see the need for anyone to add to this thread if the above advice is taken, but there again I am here to be shouted at, but I can take it
For the record my blood is red
