Hello Everyone,
I am still researching about value for money 4X4 trucks without compromising basic luxury n comfort and offroad performance.
Can the below trucks handle our desert trails when stock:
- F150 FX4 2016 Crew Cab
- RAM 1500 2016 Crew cab ( I am not happy with the ground clearance but I heard it comes with air suspension that could be lifted with different terrain select)
- Nissan Patrol 2016 (not too sure coz it consumes more fuel than the above)
Let me know you experience when its stock.
Cheers

Re: CREW CAB TRUCKS - OFFROAD?
One certainly can't go wrong with a Nissan Patrol, those creatures will go anywhere...petrol is cheap nowadays, it's just the Patrol itself that's pricey but if you can afford it go for it!
The F150 is good also but I've only seen the 2 door perform in the desert or the 4 door Raptor in the desert. If you can afford a Patrol then you can afford a Raptor, did you consider that? My friend has a F150 with a lift and giant wheels and he does very well in the sand (2 door).
All the best!

As an owner of a stock 2014 4dr FX4 I will give you the short version of the answer. It handles anything up to Intermediate style drive very well. I even take it to Liwa. At Advanced level you will run the risk of the curtain airbags deploying. For a much more detailed indirect response to that question on the F150 in stock form, do a search for my response on some of the F150 topics.

CREW CAB TRUCKS - OFFROAD?
I believe there is, but it is then permanently disconnected. BBQBear wrote a bit on this elsewhere on the forum. A search for late 2015 and 2016 posts on "F150 airbags" by BBQBear will get you to the details.senigal wrote:Hi Thom
