I've had a trusty Bushranger Black Max for 3 years. For at least the last year the valve connector has been very stiff to operate culminating in it blowing off the valve twice last weekend. I've always been nervous about lubricating parts open to sand/gritty atmosphere but finally gave in and used WD40 inside and out as nothing to lose. It now works better than even but will now probably need to do this regularly.

Re: Air Compressor Fix
I use tap water to clean the sand
while watering keep moving the valve in /out and rotate
Then blow air to dry it

Re: Air Compressor Fix
I gave up and replaced the valve connector by the screw-on valve fitting of the 3 in 1 tyre gauge from Bushranger.
Works well!

Re: Air Compressor Fix
Its definitely the weak point in the system, I'm just amazed how long I put up with it before taking action!
