Woooouuuw, what a day.
We reached the sand and one driver decided to deflate. No other choice and we all *drained” some air from the tires.
The trip briefing and we were ready for the dunes. The sky was grey and the temperature pleasantly cool. The Pajero, the Sportage and for sure the coloured boxes ( read JEEP) were the cars driven by great drivers. Second tries and some stucks (for training purposes only) provided a good chance for breathing fresh and wet air.
A lesson learnt during today’s trip: make sure the windshield wipers are fine
And not to forget my “winch recovery demonstration”. You all did great during the recovery – thank you.
This was another great trip with cool people. Hope to see you soon somewhere in the sand.
Cheers
Uristier

Re: Floating over the Dunes – Trip Report
Urs,
That was a great day out under the clouds. The winch recovery was one of the longest and most difficult recoveries I've ever seen... really good learning experience
The track itself was really great with some very enjoyable sidesloping opportunities... looking for to the next one!

Re: Floating over the Dunes – Trip Report
The weather was phantastic, who could have expected that at the end of April !
We started very easy, and as the challenges increased had plenty chances to
practice second tries and rescues first in dry and then in wet sand, difficulties
increasing up to the real nasty stuck at the end. A coloured box had to provide
a rock-strong anchor for the winch, and the rescue was like five rescues instead
of one, which was also an increase from the previous series of baby pull,
pull on parked car and final sussessful pull.
Thank you Urs for a great trip not only driving but also the explanations
on dune formations, choice of route, and the extra demonstration of the
method of tying two snatch straps together.
Thank you Gladiator for being around, providing the rock-strong anchor
and letting me see your super self-rescue from the bathtub.
Thank you ebebeb, beebs9966 (man you have a dedication), hyder,
AmruAbbas (your arm out of the window always made me believe you
want to signal something) for great company, hope to see you all again
soon.
