Rest all i agree to it.
I'd rather put a flagpole on the car than having suddenly a Jeep knocking on my backdoor

With your new ride I suggest you drive around with your trunk open and if it happens we can just park our tiny jeeps in there and get out on the next dune :-)

Great and clear info about the upgrades! I think it's fair that u gradually pay more contribution with your upgrades as this usually means you're enjoying many AD4x4 trips!

As for the flagpoles ... all i can say is that they really come in handy on more difficult trips where the speed is a little higher. Especially since the non-jeepers are now also getting stuck after the crest... apparently...

I really appreciate the Seniors Effort to Produce a Straight and Clear Guide line. This will really curb many questions and requests.

Well just one question, Is Flag Pole with Flag enough or do we also need the mechanism to Fix it to our ride.

Excellent work guys, I hope it stops some of the silly questions and situations happening. And the flagpole rule is a very good idea, many times have I been waiting for people to let me know if they are clearof the crest or had to do a bit of quick thinking as the group dissapeared after a stuck. Also i think that marshals should make sure that radio's are on hand before leaving for deflation as I have seen some close calls due to no radios.

Brilliant plan though guys, thanks. :D

You share this with my wife  But we hopefully all agree that it is highly recommended and a real safety plus, especially in Intermediate and higher trips with all the cresting involved.
Sukilala wrote:all is clear and understandable, but

one question:
*Upgrade contribution: intermediate AED 100.00*
*Upgrade contribution: advanced AED 200.00*
*Upgrade contribution: explorer AED 400.00*

so is this now how contribution works? if i choose to stay at advanced, for say 2 years do i pay the same amount each year, or is it just a once off and i dont pay contribution again until i ungrade,? :)

Especially the website is costly and needs to be paid every year, other expenses as well. Personally Katharina & me contribute every season because we want the Club to be there the next season also. In the list above it is given as an Upgrade requirement to contribute for the upgrade, it does not say it is an annual fee. Hope this answers it.
yes answers what i asked, just needed to clarify it, for it can read many a different way,
thanks,

but all in all, i think the it is all clearly written, and easy understood, and hope that it answers all the question etc.
great job guys 8)

Great set of procedures, well done, no one should be in doubt now.

Please advise how do I pay my contribution, and who can accept it?

Cheers

Give it to Any Marshal, in a sealed envelope, with your name and Nickname (call sign) on it. Marshals will identify themselves as such at the beginning of each trip.

Iguana

do you mean minimum contribution requirement, amounts are very less to cover our expenses boss :?:

I recommend contributer sign to be given for different amount and not the standard upgrade minuimum

Glad to see the flag requirement as on one particular newbie trip I often found myself wondering if I was clear to proceed. I followed the advice on the site in buying my flag pole and attachments last week, which was to:

- buy a glass carrier/holder from the hardware shops on 6th (I got two single ones so I could space them further apart for better holding leverage)
- buy a fishing rod (flag pole) from Carrefore (I got the longest extendable one so it will fit easily in the car when collapsed and it's now attached to the glass carriers with hose clamps - simple)

Now it's job done and ready to quickly attach to a rear window :) (hopefully the pictures of it uploaded ok)

It's not as neat as the set-up that Adiga has, with the simple bracket he had made, but it will do the job nicely until I can work out something better...

Hope this helps...
