We all met at the ADNOC joined by the intermediate group that were driving a parallel convoy to the yellow truck. We all went to the deflation point and after splitting the group into the advance and intermediate convoys we set off towards our destination tracking the intermediate convoy.

After a warm up period we quickened the pace and started moving across the repetitive dune structure of the area attacking the large and open faced crescent dunes to practice high speed climbing and cresting. This pattern made for plentiful second tries providing constant opportunities to fine tune approach and throttle technique.

On our way we met with the other convoy for a break to compare notes and then we took separate paths to enable better level appropriate driving.

Once half way to the truck, Vaughn, Maher and Chris were given part leads to provide the convoy a sample of different lead styles. The part leads did not disappoint. Each lead did very well and laid good tracks for us to follow. Finally we arrived at the yellow truck where we met up with the intermediate convoy again who were there patiently waiting for us.

As one group, we then made our way to a gatch to say goodbye to those who would leave and the rest of us made our way to camp and spend a very pleasant evening of fun, food and good company.

The next morning after parting with others who had to leave early, we set off on a relaxing intermediate drive around the area before arriving at the inflation point around 11:30.

Apart from the innumerable second tries, one demonstration stuck by the marshal, and 'a car meets ditch' incident everything went smoothly. Everyone drove well and showed improving skills.

My first visit to yellow truck, I enjoyed it a lot. Scenery was amazing and track was great too.
Also my first camping with club, and I feel like a won a lottery, since Alla was there. Special thanks for his magic.
Overall it was perfect weekend with nice weather, good portion of off-road and opportunity to know better awesome members of AD4x4. See you all soon!

Indeed a great day with great company… Thanks Michael for the drive and plan….as usual enjoyed the day very well… those high climbes, crescent shaped dune clims…me trying the lows and high gears still learning … different leads and styles … and finally seeing yellow truck after 5 years … a well spend day … see you all on sand soon…
