Advance in Nahil Sweihan - SUNDAY 12.02.2023
Posted: Tue Feb 14, 2023 11:23 am
We arrived at the meeting point by 2pm. All were on time. Since there were over 10 participants plus John and Michael as supporting marshal we divided the convoys into two. Michael took the more experienced convoy while I took the less experienced and beginner one.
Convoy Order:
Roy - FJ
Razeem - Fortuner - Second Lead
Deborah - FJ
Mike - Xterra
Adam - Prado - Sweeper
Marshal John - Jeep - Out of convoy
A detailed briefing was done and then both convoys sets a common meeting point somewhere in the desert and we headed off. The sunshine and dunes were amazing. As it was Mike's first Advance drive and Debrorah's second advance drive we took it easy with the cresting until we warmed up. As everyone was driving well we increased the level and the frequency of cresting as we rode our way to the common meeting point. We met with the second convoy at the meeting point and had a nice 15 mins break. We then set another common meeting point back on the gatch and headed back. Along the way we took a few breaks, discussed our driving and enjoyed the day. There were a few recoveries and the major offender was myself. Thank you to Razeen and Adam who pulled me out a few times. Razeen did a great job as my second lead as did Adam with some excellent sweeping and recoveries.
All in all everyone drove very well. It was a good learning experience. We reached back the gatch road at 5:25 PM.
Thank you to all that came.
Thank you to John for being my supporting marshal and Michael for taking the second convoy.
Look forward to seeing you all in the sand next time.
