We arrived at the meeting point by 2pm. All were on time except one as he was running 10 mins late. Briefing was done and we started to drive by 02:30 PM sharp.
Convoy Order:
Roy - FJ
Umar - FJ - Second Lead
Razeem - Fortuner
Artur - FJ
Shinoy - FJ
Adam - Prado
James - Pajero
Glenn - FJ - Sweeper
Thomas - Patrol - Out of convoy
As we started to drive the sun was out, sand was soft, there wasn't much sign of any rain. Within 15 mins I got stuck first on a crest and was recovered by James. There after we headed towards Sweihan side. We crested multiple dunes and tried to crest as much dunes as we could. There were a few second attempts, few third attempts and few forth attempts and some others that I didn't count. There were a few other recoveries and all done well. Overall we side crested, side switched and side sloped on multiple dunes. Sand was a bit tricky in certain areas as the texture of the sand changed due to the rain causing certain areas to be very muddy.
All in all everyone drove well. It was a good learning experience to drive in the rain with the wipers most certainly doing their job. We reached back the gatch road at 5:30 sharp.
Total distance covered was 51 KM.
Thank you to all that came. There were no cancellations.
Thank you to Thomas for being my supporting marshal.
Look forward to seeing you all in the sand next time.
