We all met at Sweihan wedding hall meeting point at 1530. A total of 20 vehicles registered for trip. There were few last minute cancellations and few no shows. We split into two groups ANIT( Newly registered members / less than 5 trips) and Newbie (5 plus trips).
I will cover ANIT trip report. Newbie Trip was led by Marshal Thomas (MyTommi) and he will cover his report separately. As there were only 2 ANITs, I called them earlier and conducted ANIT briefing. Weather was extremely hot (47°C), however it became pleasant after sunset.
The ANIT Convoy comprised following:

Adiga, Pshasha and Kamran ( Marshal Support)
Windy (Advance)
Amiralnahhas (Intermediate)
Riyazismail, vipinmpd08, Tommyboy, CarloB, Asomani( Newbies)

We reached deflation point at 1600 and started trip after convoy briefing. Marshal Adiga took lead of Convoy, whereas Amiralnahhas (Int) was second lead and Windy (Adv) took over as sweeper of convoy. Marshal Kamran and myself in support role. Unfortunately one car (F 150) broke down after 15 min into trip due to water body pipe leak. Marshal Adiga and team fixed it temporarily and car was escorted out. Adiga continued the trip and we( Me and Kamran) rejoined convoy after 30 min. The track was smooth and easy keeping in view the ANITs level. We had coffee break and other forced breaks where we met other AD 4x4 Convoys. No stucks and no pop outs but numerous second tries. We ended trip at 1900 gate-12 Sweihan. Some of us stayed back for BBQ/dinner.

Newbie Trip at Sweihan PM 21 May – Convoy#2

The trip was organised by Irfan. This report is about Convoy #2 which I had the pleasure to lead.

It was quite hot at about 16:00 h as we conducted the safety & trip briefing and then headed into the dunes next to the BBQ point. We made some good progress until one of the drivers got stuck in a soft patch of sand and unfortunately had a pop-out on top.

With good teamwork the pop-out was fixed and the vehicle recovered, however it took some time.

We continued our way around the farm. Had a few more second tries and another recovery.

One car had a gear issue and was accompanied by Michael to the exit point.

At 19:00 h we reached gate 12 where the trip was finished.

Special thanks to Alla for solid second lead and Christian for excellent sweeping. And Michael for keeping an eye on us.
