After a detailed briefing and equipment check we set off into the dunes. Since the temperature was high and we had a long way to go we took a very direct route to the Yellow Truck driving along the very long gentle slopes of the dunes. We arrived at the yellow truck at 4:30 and took a break to enjoy the scenery and catch up all together. As the temperature started to drop I increased the pace and level of driving and kept us moving towards E15. On one of the dunes however we had 2 stucks in a row and one of them being very challenging to recover. By the time we had all got out and together is was 5:45 and the sun was starting to set and we were all quite tired from the day so we decided to setup camp and found an amazing spot on tope of one of the dunes with comfortable space for all of us. We enjoyed a relaxing evening with good company and a clear sky to see the stars. At 4am I woke up and there was no moon and only a blanket of the milkyway.
In the morning we assessed our odds of crossing all the way to E15 in time for 11am and I decided that it was not worth being so late to get out and home. We had a nice drive back with some fun for everyone.
This was one of the best trips for me, it was so nice to be with so many different types of people.
Thank you all for joining and the support and good fun.
