Saturday Morning Newbies in Butais (20 Nov)
Posted: Sun Nov 21, 2021 11:37 am
Drivers:
Zak – LX 470 (Part Lead)
Asif – JKU (Part Lead)
Micheal – JK (2nd Lead and Supporting Marshal)
Tahir - Gladiator
Shireen – y62
Salman - Tahoe
Manto - Pajero
Anas – 4runner
Mustaqeem - Gladiator
Riyas - FJ
Sheabaun – JLU
Osama – LX570 (Sweeper)
This was a combined trip lead between myself and Asif. With everyone gathered together Micheal conducted a detailed briefing going over the importance of convoy order and teamwork. We got started down the track with a long convoy. I led everyone into a more technical area and we got warmed up and had a stuck and a self recovery along with an Expert demonstrating their parking skills. With my portion done Asif took the lead and let everyone into the larger dunes of upper Butais where everyone got to practice a slipface decent and only one other stuck and self recovery.
Everyone did really well gaining their confidence and controlling their cars. Some of the team are due for an upgrade after their next drive.
Well done all and hope to see you soon.
