Intermediates raiding Ghost town Ep3

Post by Abdoo »

at first i would like to welcome our advanced support Sand Sailor and Kayra who joined me after long vacation, it was pleasure to have your comany back.

we all met on time at 6:15am, all drivers attended the safety and technical briefing done by myself, and once all set up, flags raised and action started.

Lead: Abdoo (Marshal)
2nd Lead: Umer (Intermediate)

Support :
Abdalla (Advanced)
Kayra(Advanced)
Sand Sailor(Advanced)

Nahoul
Spudnik
Marco
Vishnu
Afham
B777

Phase1: headed inside from Badayer shops right to action, drivers hit the techniques quickly, and controlled their toys in a perfect manner on side slopes regardless the softness of the sand, given the fact that support members were observing and updating my and second lead with all necessary info perfectly, we headed to every side slope we faced, and each technical spot we came across, and all did very well.

phase2: one of the cars had a pop out, support members quickly stopped the convoy and prepared to fix it, where i decided to give the job to the members, and we watch over, all equipment were ready with members, and with team spirit, intermediates fixed the pop out themselves, though we had to install the spare tyre as tyre valve was broken, it also done by intermedidiates, and using their equipments, and once finished, we headed back to action with the same pace and spirit, until we had an educational moment when a car got technically stuck and rcovery point failed as well, we used winch attached to the chassis directly and recovered the car finally (also using a member's equipment).

Phase3: technical and powder soft sand we drove on while crossing our way from the dunes area to ghost town, where members did realize how soft sand is a game changer in the track, untill we reached ghost town where our trip came to an end on time.

Abdulla, Emri and Engin: you gues showed a high level of overwatching and supporting to members whenever advise, notifications are needed, you made the task clear during the track.

Umer: your second lead skill is being polished quickly, you are a trusted second lead for futue trips, keep it up.

Marco was the only first timer in intermediate level who was going as good as any other experienced intermediate driver.

Nahla, Afham, Vishnu, Anbar: as usual, every trip for you is a big surprise and level up, you guys are almost there.

thank you for joining and making the day happen, stay safe and see you all soon in the sand

It was a great feeling to be back on the sand with fellow offroaders after a long break. Felt a bit rusty at the start but thanks to the great company and smooth track I did dive into it right away.

A solid 7 car convoy following Abdoo so I stayed at the back keeping an eye while Engin was roaming around. Abdalla joined me later.

All drivers were pretty on top of their games throughout the drive. At times some hesitations and distancing issues but no major mistakes, a few stucks and a few second tries. We had to change the course only once given everyone managed to keep up. As the drive unfolded confidence grew and pace increased, perhaps why the popout/tech recovery came. Bith were pretty educational. the team handled the popout themselves with solid teamspirit (everyone chipped). The tech recovery was also interesting after the recovery point failed and we did take advantage of having a winch. everyone watched with many relevant questions and genuine interest.

As i was at the back, had the chance to closely observe Marco, (did really great in his first int trip, you are getting more familiar with the car every drive and will get the confidence of pushing even more going forward), Vishnu (solid drive with good control of the car, well done mate), Afham (almost there, very solid drive. just keep watching your distancing but this was my second time following you and the progress is impressive. Now you started to pick better lines/tracks and fully confident on pushing your toy) as well as Ahmed (knows his car and limits pretty well and coped with many obstacles grandly even at low speed. Also now you have a ditch to your name! -I have mine too)

Thank you Abdoo for the great trip, and of course always a pleasure to drive with buddies Kayra and Abdalla…

See you all on sand next time…

Nice track as usual abdoo. As my first intermediate drive it was super interesting both driving and recovery part. I had always someone suggesting me what to do in the difficoult moments and as usual I've received an answer for each of my questions😂😂. Thank to support team and leader, looking forward to the next trip.

After a long time away from Dubai, it felt good to be back in the desert despite the scorching heat and humidity.
As usual we started off slowly and Marshal Abdo increased the pace as our intermediate drivers gained confidence of the track. I was given the support role and I did my best to keep an eye on the convoy through the drive.

Overall our drivers did well. We had few snatch recoveries, one pop-out resulted in full replacement of the tire with the spare due to damaged valve and one winch recovery, which was very educational. We have also experienced first hand the importance of reliable recovery points.

Marco did well given that this was his first intermediate drive. He coped with the obstacles calmly and followed the directions we gave very well. I observe a remarkable improvement in Afham's confidence. Omar, Ahmad and Vishnu are on top of their game at two stars. I think I have driven for the first time with Umer and Nahla. I think they did remarkably well.

Always a pleasure driving with Abdalla, Emre and Marshal Abdo.

See you all again in another drive soon.

My first Intermediate trip with Marshall Abdoo and what a pleasure it was! Fun and exciting while slowly pushing the boundaries in a safe way! Abdoo you're a great leader and an even better teacher. Salut!

A very interesting drive with lots of learning. We faced numerous technical dunes. Drove on some very soft sand, Got to see a technical recovery and even fixed a pop out...all in all a morning well spent.

Engin, Emre and Abdulla, thanks for the great support...u guys watched the convoy like a hawk making sure everyone's safe...u bailed me out more than once...thanks!!

Thanks all...was lovely driving with you... cu soon!
