It was a fine afternoon when we all met at the deflation point, with the surprise but very welcome return of Marshal Khalid who joined us in his X-Terra. Being a warm afternoon we started off at a relaxed pace to get into a rhythm for the region, and to slowly to allow the advance to get the feel of riding and transitioning the crests in the area. Before long however, we lifted the level and started to ride the larger crests and bowls of the star dunes range.

A cliche maybe, but true, it was a good drive and everyone did well with a few second tries , stucks, and only one unfortunate overheating issue forcing Paulo to be accompanied to the gatch and retire early. After which, we then continued the drive, and after more fun driving, we drew our trip to a close and eventually stopped just before sunset and were treated to nice cold melon courtesy of Khalid.

As ever, a trip into the sand is always a good way to spend a day and being with a great group of people, only makes it better.
