Report Sweihan Intermediate night drive 13 January

Another nightdrive, this time in Sweihan and we started from Gate 12. Started out with a briefing 18:45 PM on side sloping technique and the reasons for not fighting gravity, as this was afsal001’s first intermediate drive, and as it happened, also in the dark.
So, we took off with MAGDY as second lead and SBAHI acting as sweeper, and quite soon got the opportunity to practice straight crest recovery, which is a good thing to practice, a skill that is needed as well as driving the dunes. All good and we continued, trying out some side slopes one by one, all mastered well by everybody.
Drive went on towards Nagra direction, winding a bit back and forth. Passed through a few challenging sections which presented more learning opportunities when it comes to second tries and recoveries, adding to the experience of what to do and not and when. All went well and we returned to the inflation point (BBQ) at around 21:45, making some breaks on the way, viewing the amazing star-filled sky.
Well done everybody, hope you had fun and gained some valuable experience for future drives. Keep on driving as much as possible, in different desert areas and levels and with different trip leads, that is the best way to get comfortable with all kinds of terrain and driving.
