Diff locks are useful in self recoveries but it’s very rare you might use them. If you are a good driver then don’t bother in installing one if you don’t have. Right deflation and driving style will rarely put you in a situation for a need of diff locks

I had them on my old rubicon, used 5 times in 4 years and 3 times was in wadis when crawling in rocky terrain.

Deflock can help a lot in these situation:

1) when you are stuck

2) when you are stuck in a ditch and having a wheel not touching the ground

3) rocks crawling

it depends on driving style, more good for rocks, some times needed on the sand, i dont have them also not looking to install them in my TJ.
very good with bigger tires for self recovery.

Self recovery, soft/boggy conditions and choppy stuff... I go between 4H and 4HLc as I need to on the fly, mostly for choppy climbs and knock it off again. Pajero SWB 3.8.
