Flag on the FJ

Post by omar_kid77 »

Hello fellows;

Any advises on where is the best location to mount the flag on the FJ, any recommendations & pictures?

Thanks,

Hi, refer pic.

The place circled in red is the most common. Most offroad shops sell the mount that fits there.

I have a roof rack so I use the one circled in blue. Needed some custom work at the metal shop.

Some use suction mounts ( sold by Ramy) on the rear quarter panel as well

I have also seen some crude versions of tying the flagpole to the spare tire but they are not very reliable.

Yea i can see these are the most common places to mount the flag on the FJ.

I am thinking to place a stand/base on the nuts of the spare wheel carrier, but am not sure it will fit or the curve on the rear door and glass will cause some issues.

I can't remember if you have a roof rack or not (I stopped by to look at your FJ when you had it for sale), but if you don't you can consider getting the Toyota flag and bracket, which attaches to one of the mounts that would otherwise be used for roof rack. Several people in the club use this, you may be able to find a picture on Facebook or one of the recent trip reports.

I went with this option, price will be 200-220 aed from toyota spare parts store by the dealership on airport road. You can go to the one in musaffah too, but I had more luck at airport road. They are not really allowed to sell the bracket as a spare part, so you may encounter some resistance at first 😁.

Man enjoy your FJ and i hope you got a good deal.
No i don't have roof rack, i already have a flag and just need to get the mount bracket, i think am going to fabricate one to be located on mounts used for the roof rack.

Thank you Brother Abdul Qader, most properly will go with this option to fabricate a bracket in the Great Musaffah.
