2 inches lift for a Pajero

All,

After having the front bumper trimmed and the rear bumper protected by a skid plate, I am now considering giving a 2 inches lift and replacing the shock absorbers on my 3.5L Pajero LWB 2013.

Ideally, I would like softer shock absorbers than the original ones.

I do not want to go for the cheap option of installing rubber spacers under the coil springs at the back and adjusting the front.

Questions:
1. What lift kit/new shock absorbers would you suggest: Ironman, Oldman, other?
2. What is the best place to get this done in Dubai?

Thanks
Olivier

Hi Olivier, I have never driven a Pajero so I am not sure how stiff the shock absorbers are, but I would be surprised if they were more firm than what I have on the FJ or the Landcruiser.

My set up is extremely firm but progressive, it stops you bottoming out and having hard knocks on the car. If you go too soft you might find that you have no real control.

Thanks Lee. Maybe I will go for Ironman then.
Any other comments will be welcome

I have the Oldman EMU kit installed on my 2015 LWB Pajero and they have completely improved the ride quality, on-road and off-road. Bought and installed them at Titan Performance garage in Dubai

hey Olivier, ive recently driven my LWB 3.8 Pajero and i was amazed with the amount of torque , power and the 4WD system. i always underestimated its capabilities.

looking into this thread , whats the best skid plate for the back bumper? not to pop out? as of course i had it scooping sand the first 10 mins.

do you drive on H4LC or just H4? i know that H4LC locks the differential which gives you more control on dunes. whats your advise being an expert?

did you end up going with the ironman? hows the drive? does it also looks better with the lift kit?

Hello Kareem
Welcome in the AD4x4 informal Pajero Club!
I had the front skid plate, and back skid plate both fitted by Icon Garage in Dubai.
They also trimmed the front bumper.
I am very happy with the result.
In easy terrains, I typically drive in 4HLc, 1st gear mainly, sometimes second gear
In more challenging conditions and when I want to climb high dunes, I drive in 4LLc 2nd gear and sometimes 3rd gear.
Finally I did not do the lift by laziness but I know that I should - and I will, one day...
Enjoy the good 'ole Pajero!
Olivier

Hey olivier. Basically the pajero has been parked with noone using it, been off-roading with my jeep Grand cherokee WK2 but after i read good reviews about the pajero i thought to give it a try. And i liked it last friday in Sweihan.

Liking this informal pajero ad4x4 club. ;)

Would love to see how the the front and back skid plates are installed and finished on your pajero. So curious :)

Have a Pajero 3.5L LWB 2016….Planning for 2 inch lift…Should I increase the tire size or no need?

Heard wide and big tyres will touch on Pajero fenders…
