Coool ! Guess what:
Meanwhile I have my LS1 donor as well
Aaaand Novak has TJ bolt on mounts as well! ( not on their website though!)
But I am very interested in your AC and alternator brackets.
I know Novak has AC relocation ... And Kwik performance has both... But wondering if the local copy is cheaper?!
i will reuse my TJ PCM to drive my dashboard and a hot rod LS1 wiring harness plus PCM...
are you doing all work at sahara?

Very nice! Congrats so far. Do you Know a Local Shop for building the Radiator - or did you get it from Abroad?

This project is playing with nerves

Plan changed.

I've spent very long time looking for a matching rear diff for my XJ therefore, I'll swap a Patrol Drive line to the XJ.

What is the problem with your rear diff ??

Putting a Nissan rear could make the problem worse as you will have different ratios between front and rear ..

Why not putting a Ford 8.8 from a 95-01 Explorer? Super strong and lots of aftermarket support!
Done sooooo many times in the jeep world ... and with your rear leaf springs quite uncomplicated !

I wish you good luck, wallah!
I hope the axle widths fit ... and the bracketry is available and of high quality ... you might be spending too much trying to solve all the nasty details properly :?

You could help me with one question, please:
Where did you get your A/C and Alternator relocation brackets from???
(The Novak and kwik performance ones are quite expensive :? as a complete set :? :? but I can see you are using a sanden type A/C compressor ... so it is a kwik fake???)

The A/C compressor is a universal one with custom brackets , the alternator bracket is custom made as well.

At this point all what I wanted was a matching rear Diff. Other wise a would have been done :mafia:

Abu Dhabi-20111013-00149.jpg
Abu Dhabi-20111013-00150.jpg
I changed the plan because I was not able to get a matching rear Diff. its harder that what i thought because the scrap yard guys wont let you check the gears in the diff.
they say that if they open it no one will buy it there fore this will force me to buy front & rear diffs.

PLAN "B"

I had a set of front & rear Nissan Patrol diffs along with a Transmission, Transmission bell-housing, Transfer Case & Drive Shafts
therefore , What i Need is an adapter to match the LS1 to the Nissan transmission and a Clutch.
the Nissan GUTS can go extremely wild (1000+ Hp) and survive therefore its a long term saving    when compared to the original jeep parts which may break down any moment.

And here we go

I forgot to mention that the original transmission and 4wd stick may need modification as the new hole made to accommodate the stick is almost 8cm behind the original stick location.

Now , the drive shafts where sent to the machine shop to cut and weld according to the new length.

I'll have to re do the exhaust because the transfer case front shaft location is on the passenger side and the exhaust is on the other side in the Nissan. when it is in the opposite in the J33P.

The Lift seems to be much more than the original 4.5" because of the Nissan thick diff. but the tires on the pics are 30'' high along with 16'' wheels therefore it looks very high on the pic & it is ;)

the over all width of the new diff is similar to the width of the original jeep diff with a 1.5'' spacer ..... I think a wide fender-flares will solve this problem.... does any on know a shop have them ready in there stock :?:

Regards,
