GPS HUNT Event 9th Edition

Post by FidoDido »

It was amazing day to see that number of members starving for hunting

We all met at the Basecamp before time, 9 teams 12 Marshalls, all were excited and ready.

After the briefing, all the team started their plan for the hunt and all moved from the basecamp by 10:00AM.

30 flags were set across 110 Sq Km. More than 75km of driving on 6 hours. team 2 was the first to reach back to the base camp after calling all the points, and the Golden Lions team for collecting most of the gifts.

All team leaders led exceptionally well followed by the drivers.

Special thanks to all marshals and explorers who supported the event.

Trip report Team 7

Everybody came on time to the meeting point

Team 7 consisted of
Meadhat
Nemo sweeper
Sinan 2nd lead
And Bobby N
.supporting Marshall was Ihab and partly the Chief

First and foremost my team did amazingly well, considering that 3 of them are Newbies. I tried to avoid big dunes and lead around them where possible. When it was not possible of course, we had to tackle them meandering or head on with a straight crest. By doing so, we had a couple of stucks, unfortunately including myself.

In the end, though we left camp last (adding waypoints to my GPS on the device is a real pain and slow), we came back second, having visited all points and captured all codes, half an hour early.

Once again, Kudos to my team, you did all very well and I am looking forward to drive with you in the future.

Thanks to the Marshalls for letting me lead as I did and of course to all people organising this great event.

Chris

It was one of the best days of my life, a day during which I lived my life and didn't think about my life at all.'

Very well organized program and lot of hard-work behind the scenes. I have been offroading for the last 15 years in uae and participated in many GPS Hunt. This was one of the best GPS Hunt so far and all credit goes to the organizers and Marshals!

Looking forward for more exciting events!
Best Regards,

Thank you to the AD4x4 Team for hosting yet another amazing GPS hunt.

I was the leader for Team 2.
Isham - Lead
Enzo - 2nd Lead
Thareq
Andy
Mohanad - Sweeper
Supervised by Marshal Abdul Qadiri.

I had Nena as my copilot who helped us to write down all the points.

Thank you guys, all done an amazing job. A few stucks but we managed to recover very quickly. Tasks were given to each member in the team for quick recovery.

Great teamwork. We wouldnโ€™t have finished first and also 45 minutes to spare if the whole team wasnโ€™t there.

Newbies keep it up, see you all soon.

Isham

It was an awesome outing. We were team 5 with Marshal Shaalan supporting the convoy.

The team comprised of myself followed by

Peggy (second lead)
Shafeeq
Kannan
Bishar (sweep)

We were able to keep a steady pace through the trip and had our fair share of stucks, recoveries and one pop out. All along, the team displayed excellent team work. In fact, special thanks to Bishar's spouse and kids who were an equal contributor to the efforts and helped with planning and digging for gifts.

The kids even managed to find some time for sandboarding.

Both Peggy and Bishar (recent intermediate) did remarkably well and showed good control of the car. Both our newbies (Shafeeq and Kannan) , I am sure had good learnings from the trip.

Thanks to Marshal Shaalan for constantly looking after the group.

I enjoyed leading the team.

Till next time..

Amazing organization, effective teamwork in our Team 2 convoy, fantastic lead by Isham, strong support by Marshal Abdul Qadir...
What a beautiful day! what a true and safe fun.
Thanks to all those in AD4x4 who organized & supported this, to the numerous partecipants and to all the members of my Team. It's always a pleasure to meet again so many friends made while crossing the dunes.

I'm sure it was not an easy (nor little) job to prepare all of this, but the result was amazing!!

And now...just planning a liftup to my Pajero, just in case๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Team2:
Isham
Enzo & Nena
Thareq
Andy & Family
Mohanad
Marshal Abdul Qadiri &..?๐Ÿ˜‚

Special mention to the additional lead offered by Isham on the way back to the asphalt, we had some unplanned extra-fun and He also had to go back later on, to help one of us who incurred in a tyre popoff (God bless Him twice๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚)

see you soon!๐Ÿค™๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช

I would like to thanks for this great organisation..... Thanks Marshals, especially Amr....

The drivers have been dispatched into the 9 teams. Our team was consisting of Sameer, Xpantop, Ali Akbar & Renze

Kevin was our official Marshal and he kept on eye on us all the day. Thanks Kevin

During the conversation there was a notice for the one who comes from Dubai. They have been notified that the door is closed but I thought that I will find a way to reach to the place. When I came to the first door it was closed there was someone but they did not open the door. there was a fence in all the way and I went to the other door, it was closed also and there was a camera so I went back and found out a gate which was unlocked, I entered from the unlocked gate and entered to desert. I did some warm up before meeting with the team, it took 15 minutes drive and I reached to the meeting point. Still no one was there, After 5 minutes the teams reached to the place and deflated the tires

Xpantop had an medical issue for his wife and unfortunately he cancelled it (we hope all is fine with you and with your family Xpantop)

Ali Akbar was in our group and also he was in our team whatsup group and communicating with us all the time in the group but when we came to the meeting point we saw him with Rene's team. it looks that he was spy of Team 6. He rejected to drive with us :)

Sameeer didn't feel well and left us during middle of the drive and we found Pradeep in desert. When we found Pradeep, He told us Team 9 left him (we never leave someone behind ;) ) we lost Ali Akbar but got Pradeep.

All the drivers did very well, it was a perfect day. We went all the coordinates, collected QR codes and came as 4th team to the Barbeque point before 16:00 o'clock.

Thanks for the great day and looking forward for the further

I was a member of team number (2)

1.Marshal Abdul Qadir
2.leader isham66
3.Enzo & Nena
4.Thareq
5.Andy & Family
6.Mohanad

Honestly, it was one of the most amazing trips that I participated in, The Marshal was keen on the safety of all members, the leader chosen safe and smooth overland roads.

The Marshal uploaded all the coordinates of the points in the Qarmin apparatus in coordination with the leader, and he put for us the road map, the missions of the trip were distributed to the team members.

Enthusiasm was at its height for all members of the trip, we drove for 5 hours, passed very quickly and did not feel it, Marshal experience and leader versatility made the journey easy for us, the members were very helpful and helped each other.

We passed all obstacles, one of the vehicles got stuck in the sand and was helped and taken out safely, we have reached all the coordinate points and were the first to arrive at the camp.

At the end of the event, the leader assisted us to reach the main road, and on the way out, my car tire was detached from wheel, the leader immediately returned to me and help me change the spare wheel, and he make sure my vehicle is safe, then he accompanied me and guided me on the way out to the main street, and i thank Mr. isham66 very match for that.

Thank you, Marshal.

And i was honored to know the members of this wonderful trip.
