Newbies in Bu Tais - 05/03/21

I had posted a newbie trip which gained a lot of interest. The trip was posted for 8 but I had 48 interested drivers. After getting confirmation from our Marshals to help support the drive, I split the members into 5 convoys (thanks to Adiga, Khaled, Mark and Irfan).

I created a name/number list and shared the convoy list with each Marshal (which included the number of trips each driver has completed).

I started my convoy at 3pm at Bu-Tais West. All the technical dunes were covered (my convoy order was Shameem as second lead, Nikhi was next, followed by Bimal and Deon, Dilip was my official sweeper and AJ was my flying eagle) - thank you all for a great job. They all covered the technical dunes with big and heavy 4x4s. There were a couple of recoveries and a couple of second tries but all done very well.

We start our report by thanking Isham for organizing this trip, and thanks a lot for the support Marshals, 2nd lead and sweepers.
Heading East with 13 Vehicles, several second & third tries, some tricky / technical areas which was handled professionally by our members,
Thank you Nandeka / Shamel for 2nd lead, Ahmad for sweeping, Iguana for your SUPPORT.

At 18:00 a Sand Storm hit us while we were trying to head back to the starting point, reached safely,
Log Books singed and Members headed North to BU Tais Gate.

Thanx to Marshalls for this trip..it was my first to Bu Tais.

Special thanx to Marshall Adiga for leading our group...his constant guidance and encouragement was noteworthy and it was a a very valuable learning experience for us newbie participants. Looking forward to many more trips like this in the future
