Recovery Points for Ford Ranger

Post by Narekg »

Hi ppl. I am new to here and I would like some recommendation regarding recovery points on my 2018 Ford Ranger.
I read previous threads about it but it seems dead and ppl aren't using it anymore.
So My Ford Ranger doesn't have rear recovery point :-o . I went to ford Mussafah and they offered me a tow package but it's expensive and it looks like it is made for towing not recovery. Do you know where can I get recovery point(some hook or something) installed on my truck?
Thank you.
P.S. I've checked with ARB they are selling bumper kit, but I believe that's too much for this, I only need some recovery hook/point installed.

Hi, Marshal Andrew (Scotchyl) owns a Ranger, might add his 2 cents.

In the mean time, May I ask if you have a tow hitch in the back?

I use that on my F150, using the Rugged Ridge hook which fits the 2 inch receiver.

It's made for recovery and not towing, with a rating of 36k pounds if I remember correctly.

Hello, thanks for your reply.
No I don't have any hitch on the back, it came like this from the factory. I have been to many garages/shops but they do not have anything ready made for Ranger, they all say they can thinker something, modify other tow bars etc,but I am afraid if that will effect the warranty. One guy said he can come up with bolt-on solution (this will not affect the warranty), however he suggested to try to find something made for Ranger first.
Maybe you know any shop abroad that will ship to UAE?
Thank you.

Afternoon, i hear someone was calling my name. i have the 2018 Wildtrak and had the same issue. Considering the car was manufactures in SA, it is stupid that it arrives here in a different spec. Anyway, i got the tow hitch package as i was planning to get a buggy so needed a trailer. i have used that for multiple recoveries and with a soft shackle it works fine.

re front recovery. it is an ongoing debate with my friends at the UAE ranger group whether it is a recovery or tie down point, but most guys have used if for recoveries with no issues like bending / snapping etc.

feel free to send me a whatsapp and i can add you / snd you link to the group. I know many guys have done some works via external workshops ie not ford.

there is another member on here who has a ranger Dr Zeno and glad to see another ranger among us.

i've asked the ranger group and it appears it will work if you change out the bash plate for the ARB skid plate aswell and it forms a single unit bolted to the chassis.
