Exploring upper Butais: 17/10/2020

We all met on time, held a briefing to set convoy order with Charlie as second lead followed by Talal, Jithu and Zak, with Asif as sweeper. After warming up in the technical smaller dunes we headed into the larger dunes to explore the area. Unfortunately about an hour into the drive a mechanical issue prevented Asif from continuing and had to be escorted back to the Gatch. Upon returning to the group we continued on our way and came across cluster after cluster of conjoined bowls and finally ended up at some new star dunes. Only time prevented us from further exploration. But this is certainly an area to return to.

Everyone drove well, choosing safety over bravado, with numerous second and third tries providing learning experiences.
