Two-way radio
Anyone know where i can get a set of two-way radios in Abu Dhabi. Tried all the usualy pleaces, Plug-ins, Carefore, Radio shake etc but they dont seems to stock them?
I tried to bring my ones over from the UK but got into a bit of a 'tet a tet' with the AD customs offier. He got very upset and wouldnt let me bring them in.....are they legal over here?

LR3 Roof Rack
Hi all - brand new to both this group and Abu Dhabi (arrived mid-August 2008). Recently bought an LR3 and am hoping to find a decent roof rack for less than the AED 8900 Land Rover wants to charge. It's a little crowded in there with 4 kids and full set of camping gear. Any advice? Also saw a post about the ANIT trip - where do I sign up for that? Suspect I can find it somewhere on the site but laziness has me asking. Thanks for any info!

Welcome to Abu Dhabi WCS, to AD4x4 and to our family
I cannot help in the roof rack, but did you try ARB?
For the next ANIT trip, follow this link

Hi WCS,
LR3, brave, brave 8)
Check what ARB, Lightweight and other OEMs have. For sure you will find a better price..
For the ANITs just check in the Newbie Forum. There are a few going on but before, please inreoduce yourself in the Chit Chat Forum.
See you in the Sand....

Good roofracks are difficult to find in the UAE. ARB in musaffa is a good place to start. There are a couple of off-road stores in Dubai that have racks.
I haven't come across a place that carries brands like Yakima or Thule.
As for the ANIT check the "Newbie Trips" forum here ...
http://www.ad4x4.com/modules.php?name=F ... wforum&f=2
... its easy!!
Good luck... see you out there soon!

Duct tape is a pretty awesome stuff to have onboard, can be used for a whole range of things. Its an all in one tool kit!
