Since I am Swedish I must suggest that you try the Volvo XC90 Sport. V8 and a very comfortable and safe car. 7 seater just in case and the price - less than half of the cheapest Porsche I think.
My Norwegian neighbour have one 2008 and I must say it is the most comfortable SUV I have driven.
At least drive it and compare is my suggestion.
And I also heard that Volvo install a blond girl as passenger for free

Is Maintenance too expensive, bearing in mind that it goes to service every 20,000 KM while other cars go every 5000KM.
The workshop manager at Porsche once told me their hourly rate is lower then Jeeps (western motors) ... He is on leave in Germany now, but i could get his expert advice for you when he returns (in a week), he wont mind to give so advice about Porsche ... and has driven all of them!
Islam, I think that the basic 6 cyl. will not be for you, guess it will disappoint you. It is an Energy saving option for central Europe, just go to the Porsche Website and check out the data:

everybody says the same: V6 is too weak. Plus you don't have all electronic management of suspension on V6 if you want to go off road.
Go For V8 so. Great car anyway... too big for me though.
Before any buy, just check what you can have for the same budget. If you are looking for power only in a SUV shape, the Grand Cherokee SRT8, turbocharged by Extreme will do the same for quite cheaper.
But a Jeep will NEVER be a porsche!!!

The demand in full size SUVs is dropping with many consumers heading for the smaller, more fuel efficient models. A fact that nearly fooled the world into thinking a smaller Roxster model was set to be launched beneath the Cayenne in the Porsche portfolio, it later turned out that the smaller prototype spotted that had a similar wheelbase to the Audi Q5 was in fact the next generation Cayenne.
The drop in size should also see a range of more fuel efficient engines enter the fray, we should also see both a hybrid and a diesel variant enter the line-up as well.
It is expected to be launched towards the end of 2010 as Porsche executives use their ever increasing control on Volkswagen to move their own products forward at a faster pace, despite it hindering the development of future Volkswagen and Audi vehicles.
I have worked extensively on the cayenne right from the prototype testing in liwa to the launch right down to the travel club held by Porsche Stuggart a promotional event in which porsche invites its vip costumers here to demonstrate its offroad ablity and the travel club will be starting again end of this month aswell. Hey might even need some volunteers, Long days starting very early and ending very late, get paid around 500 to 1000dhs per day.
Almost on every desert run one of the cayennes breaks down from broken oil sump to cracked radiator. Not to mention if you wack that front bumper it exposes a labrynth of wires which then dangle dangerously from the car.
Forget the S got for the turbo headon .The V6 is hopeless V8 so so.
Another thing once you get stuck and try to get your self out the car starts to get extremely hot and one by one the cars starts losing power. first to go is the aircon then the steering gets heavy and so on.
Also the Air suspension starts to act funny. The back will raise but the front won't ot vice versa. Then you have to bring the car completely down amd then retry it.
Also split an alloy rim in half after hitting a rock in wadi bih.
Some of my best and worst memories are attached to the porsche project
I was also in the Cayanne campaign in Sweihan held 3 years ago .. and tried the S offroading, I actually loved it ... But I am buying the porsche for the city .. I will never take the risk of breaking a bumper that will cost me 25K to replace
The Turbo is tooooo expensive for me .. It is AED 400+ the S is around AED 280K
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan, why would you need another 4x4? Your not taking it off road, and there is no snow on the road here?
You want a Porsche, get a real one a Carrera.
All the others are just for the wannabes. There is no point of driving a Porsche that dos not sound like a Porsche, dos not drive like a Porsche, dos not smell like a Porsche, dos not look like a Porsche ... dos nothing like a Porsche !!!!!!
Tintin and Boujebba, the problem is that I am a poncy bank manager and a family man .. and an offroader, so I need a big car for the family, gives the image of a bank manager and feels like a 4x4 that's wht I choose the Cayenne .. My personal taste will be the bentley convertible, which I cannot afford and my kids will just jump out of the car when the roof is opened and my wife will not accept it because I will turn lots of girls heads and it's not a 4x4
