this piss me off! i bought my 276C 2 months ago with the V4 map and when asked, nobody told me that the new map was on the way (even on Garmin web site though)... so now i have to pay 540 Dhs just to have the road to Abu Dhabi mall???

xof, I understand the frustration but I think most of us have had to suffer this... I've managed to do it with 2 GPS's!!!
Try to grin & bear it.....
In any case - you can stay with V4 for as long as you think fit... it's not going to 'stop' working. My gripe has always been that there are no updates available between new editions - so it's never truly current anyway. Given the pace of change over here - I wish that was something Garmin would provide. The way I see it - the approx. 540AED is basically an annual 'subscription' to staying current...which is a bit of an ouch - but which I also don't have a better alternative to. 8)

I had my 276C around 2 years ago & i had it on the invoice from the agent that i will get 2008 map for free & i went back they refused to upload it & i Sc***d the guyxof wrote: this piss me off! i bought my 276C 2 months ago with the V4 map and when asked, nobody told me that the new map was on the way (even on Garmin web site though)... so now i have to pay 540 Dhs just to have the road to Abu Dhabi mall???

My V4 is working just fine till now 8) You are not in a hurry to get the 2008 one. Moreover, 2008 map is useless in Dubai
