I need some help...
So yesterday I was out with some friends in the desert. My pal in the Prado got stuck and we needed snatch straps for extra length because of the awkward position.
A newbie friend jumped out and connected the straps using a loop knot while we connected the ends to the cars. Unfortunately we didn't realise until later that was a very bad idea...
I'm stuck with these 2 nice new snatch straps with a knot that is harder than granite. Any ideas how I can seperate them again? I've tried tapping gently with a hammer. No good.

Thanks for any help

Have you tried submerging in soapy water?

I haven't tried that. Was worried that it might make it swell and be worse than before?

Try to give it an easy beating with a hammer on every direction of the knot. It will loosen up a bit after few hits and then you may end up undoing the knot. Make sure you dont hit in on a hard surface so you wont damage the strap.
If you cover the hammer with a rubber or piece of cloth it will be better for not damaging the strap.

Thanks for sharing, it's a lesson learn for the readers to add something in between when joining kinetic ropes.
