What started as a foggy morning cleared to become a marvellous day of desert driving. After meeting at the deflation point the briefing was held by congratulating Kamran for his upgrade to intermediate level and setting the convoy order, with Charlie (cabf) as second lead followed by Kamran, Sunil(snware) and Ryan (ronnybravo85) with Husam (bahar) as sweeper.
We slowly set off towards our entry point and as the fog lifted we entered the glorious dunes of Bu Tais. As the drivers warmed up and confidence grew we picked up the pace to flow around and over bowls, ascending and descending the dune faces, only stopping for breaks and to practice some larger side slopes.
Everyone drove very well with only a few stucks and second tries that as usual showed effort and allowed learning. Safety was demonstrated throughout with sensible driving and good judgement calls by all. Very well done to Kamran on his first intermediate drive, keep it up. Ryan, you showed good and growing control of your vehicle, Sunil, well done. Your new tyres made a big difference. A a big thanks to Charlie for a good communicative second lead and Husam for being a solid sweep aiding the flow of the convoy.
A fine morning with great people.
Looking forward to seeing all again soon.

Really enjoyable drive Michael, thanks very much. The level was just right with a nice mix of challenging and fun sections. And Bu Tais really is such a stunning area, we have to make sure we as a club continue to leave no trace to ensure it remains pristine.
Cheers Charlie
