Transfer case Q

Post by WildFire »

Hi,

I was thinking

Is possible to modefi the transfer case of the TJ 8O to provide more power from the front wheels when the 4wd is engaged :?:

WHY 8O  :?:

I've noticed that in a Jeep the rear tyres spins much more than other cars and the front wheel spins less (Power destribution is more in rear wheels).

Therefore, if the modefication is possible it will improve the off road performance specialy when attending to go up a high dune by improving the pulling power.

This is what iam thinking and i dont know if it is correct or wrong.

what is your openion :?: :?:

Regards,

What would happen if i use 4.88 gear ratio in front and 4.56 in the rear :?:

Will there be any change in power destribution or will be a desaster  :?: what do you think will happen :?: :!:

Is it :badidea: or do you :iagree:

No wayyyyyyyyyyyyy. both front and rear have to be on the same ratio. Imagine one tire spins once and the other spins 1.2 times tsk tsk tsk , u will break the drive train components.
