Shock?!

Post by albahhar »

Hi All

I believe my Shock suspesion need to be replaced judging by how hard it jumps over humps.

Any idea what is a good Shock suspnesion shall I buy?

What is the average price for these things?

Will any other make, other than jeep will fit.

I believe I need the coil and the shock absorber ( I donot know if I got the things right)

Jeep TJ 98

The Suspension parts needed mainly for on road (99% on road 1% off Road)

Thanks in Advance

i think the stock one is good so u can buy the mopar , or u can go for the rancho 9000 , i personally used the mopar for long time and never had problems with it , now i'm using OME it seems good.

hmmm cost maybe something between 1500 and 2000 dhs , not really sure because i bought many things all together so not really sure.

Considering the 99% and 1% use you described. Its better to stick to MOPAR original Jeep parts. The coils may be replaced if the car is sagging or coil is broken.

Thanks Jeep for the offer.

I am currently out of the country, but I left my car for painting back home and also asked the mechanic to look at the shock and give me suggestions.

If I decide to buy new shock then I will ask Khiwi to try my car and suggest what parts I need.

A'7ook mee7 fe el-seyarat :P

Cheers and thanks again.

In any case I will revert back to you.

you will need the 4 sides.

the parts shown in the pics :

if it is OME it will be yellow , if rancho 9000 it will be white and red , and if it is mopar it will be black.

so better to use the mopar, however, i don't know if the mopar shocks are available on quadratec. if u wana buy them from here u just tell them u want shocks for ur car back and front they will give u the right ones.

Do I need the Coils as well.
I believe those are the Round Spring.
You can appreciate I bought the car through an ad. and there are lots of things I need to fix.
The reason I am suspecting that I have a bod Shock Suspension, is that when on humps or on rough road the car lands roughly.

The question is do I need coils as well.

TIA

Hi Again,

I called the dealer today the 24th of Dec asking for a quotation for Suspension kit and here is the dealer quotation in AUH:

Front Shock 559 Each
Front Coil 265 each

Rear Shock 330 Each
Rear Coil 410 Each.

Above prices are not discounted and the discount is 25%.

Could someone, advise:
Did the dealer made a mistake in his quote? Quotation taken over the phone.
Is there an alternatives?

Car: is Wrangler TJ 98.

Also if I buy them from the Dealer, where shall I have them fixed in AUH, other than the dealer :P and what is the approximate cost for fixing the 4 pieces and if you are generous, time taken to fix :)

TIA.

Always ask for the discount, check with ElYasi garage hisham mobile # 050 6993379 to fix it for u also its better to get him to test the car & c what does it need & buy it later
