Jeep Wrangler JK

Hi guys,

I am looking to buy a second car only for the desert. Guess which one ;)

A few questions though... Can I buy anything from 2008 onwards till 2016 or are there major differences? What's the maximum mileage for these things? I am currently looking at cars with around 130,00 km. What about if I buy one with US or Canadian specs? Any disadvantages there?

So many questions...

And I think no 3.8l.

Thanks a lot for your advice

Cu soon
Chris

Hi Chris, I had a lot of similar questions when I was starting out and a lot of senior members shared their feedback on my post

Jeep Wrangler JK 3.6 engine, u can find used ones with valid warranty, stay away from the US specifications, try to get a car still under warranty to enjoy the Offroading
Good luck

I suggest getting a JK with the 3.6 Pentastar. That's from 2012 to 2018. The power difference is significant - 285hp vs 210hp for the 3.8.

The 2012 is reported to have had issues with the cylinder heads. I don't think it effected all models produced that year, just a certain production run.

I agree with 2012 or later for the 3.6 liter pentstar engine. As far as warranty, it sounds good in theory, but I’ve seen to many people place warranty claims but have them denied, because of mods or because it was driven in the desert, or some other random reason.

i bought my car from US more specification than gulf Standard.
don't lessen to people who said gulf specification is better (gulf specification is international standard)
better specification is Europe, US,then international -rest of world (middle east and africa).
