I am considering buying a lift kit with shocks but can’t decide which brand. Leave the budget a side now.
Which bran is more reliable?
Do i need an adjustable shocks?
Can i go 4inch up with non-adjustable shocks?
Thanks you

Hi,
there are many things you need to consider before you're doing the lifting. I assume you have JK. then 2.0 to 2.5 is suitable for the car with no major changes. going higher will required heavy modification, like replacing the drive shaft (front- rear), with 4inch in addition you will need to change the upper & lower arms because you need to get the wheels to the centric position.
of course, adjustable shocks are best but it come with bill
You need to ask your self first, why you need to upgrade and what is the purpose otherwise the sky is limit.

I would recommend to try the car first with stock shocks and upgrade it gradually. build it as you go.

Thanks fido,I actually want a higher clearance having seen other lifted cars and how they perform over certain dunes. Sure part of it is that they are more experienced drivers.
Agree that the 4 inches is too much.
WRT adjustable shocks, would the non-adjustable ones work well both on road and off road?

Dune bashing you won't require more than 2.5" lift kit, if you are planning to go rock crawling then you might consider going higher.
FOX shocks would be a good choice, performance & budget wise.
