Hi, Can anyone suggest a good place to get an underplate for the Pajero to stop the constant problem of scooping sand and popping the rear bumper out please? Also if you have had this done do you have any photos of the plate? Thanks Marie

Hello Marie,

I had the very same problem with my Pajero.

Your best bet if you are in Dubai is to go to Icon Garage
http://www.icon-auto.com/

Ask them at the same time to install a skip plate at the front, trim the front bumper and you are ready to go!

Hi Marie!
I have some off roader friends in Oman. Ill ask on your behalf if they can suggest a place.
Otherwise when you visit UAE go to the place Olivier suggested.

Cheers!

Best option is to totally remove it for now. It’s a couple of bolts and keep it till u resort to a permanent fix

Great, thank you all. I am based in Oman, but can easily arrange to have work done in either AD or Dubai. So long as they can do the work over the weekend. Mister Olivier, roughly how much did it cost to get the work done? Thanks

HI guys... I have the same query... what's the best fix for the rear bumper? Rear skid plate? Can they be fitted with a tow bar?

Popped out back bumper is a distinct Pajero off-road sign which has put me off dabbling in my on car... bikes easier to recover too I guess.

Hi, I have the same query... is a rear skid plate the best way to stop the bumper becoming a sand scoop? Can they be used with a tow bar?

Following this too. I'm looking for a fix that doesnt involve removing the entire bumper.

Removing the rear bumper entirely would mean losing the reversing sensors, and my other half relies on those.

Any suggestions for a place that can do something in Abu Dhabi.

I don't have Pajero...
However on my Landcruiser I have a rear skid plate, and the car has a tow bar.
The only issue on the Landcruiser is you lose the rear recovery points. However because the towbar is a Pintle hitch it's ok to use as a rear recover point. Don't use a ball tow bar as a recovery point, they are too brittle.

Looking at Ramy 4x4 website they sell them for Pajero. They will also fit. They are based in Mussafah.

I contacted Icon in Dubai.... they do them.

Ramy 4x4 worth looking at if they are in Mussafah though.
