VERY IMPORTANT for FJ owners !!

Dear FJ owners,

Me and some other friends has faced some issues with engine oil consumption.

Even the car is brand new, with low mileage and service been done on regular basis at the agency.

I do recommend to double check the engine oil level before use, even if you just take it out of service.

P.S best time to mesure when the car is resting for a while ex. Morning if the car resting over night.

Please shear with me if you faced the same issue stating the car model and current mileage/ODO.

Dear Murad,
Basically you should know when you go off roading your engine is used to xtreme and there is more depreciation than normal usage. My tips/ what i do before going off roading.
1) change ur engine oil every 4.5 or 4 k nd use mineral 5k oil only as we use the engine xtreme do not wait till the time is come for oil change.
2) its a normal practice even if u have a new car when u plan to go off roading first u check is your engine oil then coolant nd radiator because to be honest cars get abused.
3) clear air filter everytime you go off roading. You will be surprised the amount of sand the air filter holds.
4)change diffrential oils evry 60 or 70k and do greasing evry 10k when u go mussafah car wash they charge 20 or 30 dhs xtra. Dont wait for 100k or 120 to change diffrential oil.

This is to clarify the point of this post is some sort of survey and to avoid unnecessary damage.

What's happening on the ground sofar does not seems as a manufacturer fault..
But POOR mantains at the certified dealer...

Not pointing fingers here but there were some cases where the car left the service center after mantains without oil or coolant water!!!

Changing the oil type in use or doing any extra mantains on your own might void the validity of your warranty as per the rules of the dealer...

Thanks for the post. Some brand new engines may use a bit more oil while the piston rings seat and the engine is run in, however at the first service the original engine oil should be changed and there should be no problems. If your new (less than 30,000km) engine is using a lot of oil, there is a problem. It shouldn't matter that it is driven hard.
